Like most flea markets there is the touristy junk stalls, but after walking around, great finds are to be had. Beautiful jewelry with prices much lower than the trading posts downtown. Did not have a chance to try but heard the lamb dishes are very good.

Finally after much anticipation my wife and I finally attended our first(but not last) flea market.My wife purchased some jewelry for half of what they wanted in Albuquerque.The most interesting thing for me was the people watching.I heard Navajo,Hopi, and possibly Ute being spoken.I am still getting used to the Native American diet.It is not Tex-Mex.Nevertheless, it was all good.The Gypsy beggars were a minor nuisance but it wont keep us from coming back.

This flea has the feel of New Mexico as it has unique items only found there as well as typical flea market items with a Native twist. Love it as you never know what you might find there. Some nice jewelry at reasonable prices.

Best Flea Market we've ever been to. You can find great buys on turquoise and silver jewelry, Native American items, and food. Have to try the tamales and fruit pies. Watch out for the vender that hawks "Everything 60% Off". They have few items marked and they don't know how to correctly figure 60% off.

Gets crowded so try to get there early. Many vendors with everything from food to animals. I wouldn't eat there as it didn't seem too clean but the locals do and seem to be thriving. We didn't mind going once just to see what it was about but wouldn't go back.

Great place but don't use the map you will get lost it is not that far up road 491 it is way closer going down north on 491 off of I-40 as soon as you past the Starbucks you will hit W Jefferson turn left to 9th Street then go left or north on 9th Street and up one block

if your Navajo and know what the term "Glonnie" is than share the inside joke lol. this place is great i believe this top off all the Flea Markets i been to on the reservation. Everything they sell is pretty much legit. The Turqiouse jewlery are all real. the only shame place ive seen someone try to sell fake turqiouse was in Grant NM . Mutton stand are awesome all kinds of travlers come in just to set up there stand, i met a few from kayenta and leupp. have fun and enjoy!

We found our outing to this flea market to be most enjoyable. It was a cultural experience to New Mexico plus good prices were offered. We bought a long turquoise disc/shell necklace with a nice silver piece for $80 from Jennifer (from near the Grand Canyon), We enjoyed browsing the two long aisles of products which offered good smelling food items, herbs, jewelry, sunglasses, knick knacks, dolls, etc. On the sidelines, one could buy bales of hay and there were horses there (not sure if for sale or not). Our only problem was finding the place. One address online put us in a residential area. Hotel directions were vague without street names. So if you want to find the place, put the intersection of W Lincoln Ave and State Route 666 in your GPS which will bring you to a couple of blocks of the outdoor flea market.

We enjoyed going here with family from the area. You can find items at very reasonable prices. I learned from my daughter-in-law who is Navaho, it's okay to haggle a bit on the price. I bought jewelry and pottery that were made by the people selling them.

A great place for buying local artifacts, jewelry and delicious food. The stone jewelry are an excellent buy. Good quality.

Once you stop you will always come back. It's always on my agenda to pick up the fresh roasted green chili peppers fresh ground blue corn flour. Once you have had blue corn pancakes fried in coconut oil and scrambled eggs covered with peppers you know you have been to Gallup and sure to come back for more.

My friend told me not to expect too much at this flea market - but it way exceeded my expectations. You could find everything here from horses to handmade Navajo jewelry to mutton stew to a saddle. Once you buy jewelry direct from the Navajo here, you won't want to pay the high prices you see in Albuquerque or Santa Fe. Every kind of native bread you could want was here - from Navajo to Hopi to Zuni. Fresh tamales, mutton stew and other delicious foods were available - the pork tamales in green chile were amazing. So take time to stop at this Saturday morning attraction to find some amazing deals.

Each Saturday (check what times of the year it's open) there is this wonderful flea market just north of downtown Gallup (off of I-40) on the east side of Rt. 666. Gallup is the unofficial capitol of the Navajo Nation and we always stop there overnight to and from our drives to Durango, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque from the Phoenix area.. We love the culture, trading posts, and restaurants, but, especially, this flea market. So we always time ourselves to be in Gallup on a Saturday morning. The vendors offer all sorts of jewelry, crafts, wonderful corn-husk wrapped Indian tamales that are generously filled, corn cakes, roasted corn in season, mutton stew, and bread baked in a horno. And, if you are interested in bales of hay, lumber, used appliances, saddles and tack, or other sundries, you may be in luck. Be sure to visit the stands operated by the Medicine Women for a true Native American experience.

After hearing about the flea market through trip advisor and tour books we decided to check it out. What an amazing experience getting to look at the authentic jewelry and crafts to trying the local foods and drinks brought an entire new culture into our lives. It is worth a stop for sure.

The Gallup flea market is well worth a visit...not so much for the "finds" , but for the opportunity to mix with the native American community. On a satruday with good weather...especially just after the first of the month (payday) there will easily be 8 thousand Navajo and Zuni at the market. Very cool. The vendors do not vary much from Saturday to Saturday...with well established businesses, selling everything from fossils to saddles. There is great bread at Paywa's Zuni bakery with horno backed sourdough... fantastic loaves. I would not recommend eating from the lunch stalls...but that is just me and my public health nurse background. There is not a lot of fresh running water for hand washing...so take your chances.And as for finding stuff to buy, there are the occasional old hand operated sewing machines, and other antiques enough to keep you looking. You can also buy strings of tourquoise and coral and other jewelry making items. Remember..this is a flea market by and for Navajo....so cool!(It is also a great place for campaigning...I registered 152 voters ...mostly at the flea market...last year.)
