No place quite like this, the views, the cool pines and great people in the RV park andat the fishing pond and little store. Spent 16 summers there, that shows no place like it..

My 3 year old had a blast!!! We are in no way a "fishing family" but everyone here was extremely friendly and accommodating! We had a great morning here!

My boys would have stayed there all day - as soon as they cast their line into the water, they would get a bite! But, it is WAY too expensive for just a handful of fish. They charge by the inch (65 cents per inch of fish), so you think that you will only need about $20 or so. But the kids are catching fish like crazy, and there is no catch and release, and before you know it, you have 14 fish and a bill for $120!! That's crazy! At least they clean them for you before you leave. Overall, we loved it, but it's so expensive that I doubt we go back if we visit Cloudcroft again.

Our teens wanted to fish. We saw this facility on TA - even though there were no ratings we gave it a try and were not disappointed. It is a short drive from Cloudcroft; directions are on the website. Basically, it is a small RV park with a small pond - full (I mean "full") of rainbow trout. We rented three fishing poles and bough bait at the facility, then the fun began. My children were really delighted. They caught several fish each. We could have stayed and caught many more - but you are charged for fish by the inch - "catch and release" is not permitted. They clean the fish for you. The staff is helpful and very friendly. All in all, we had a wonderful time and would recommend it for kids with little or no fishing experience.
