This place is worth a stop if you are driving between Chama and Abiquiu on 84. We were headed south towards Ghost Ranch and decided to take a little hike to see the amphitheater. The paths are paved and there is easy access to the site. There is a small donation charge to park and hike into the Echo Amphitheater and if you are not in a hurry it makes a nice little diversion but I would not make it a destination unless you want to camp, as there are many campsites available and some are away from the main road.

This is a short manicured walk from the parking lot and we were so happy we stopped! This is a great place for kids, and a beautiful area where you're surrounded by high rock walls. And it's free!

I stopped on my way to Pagosa Springs, CO to check out the Echo Amphitheater. Took my native american flute and played a little music and it sounded great. Wonderful place to take a break from driving especially if you play music!

The walk up to the amphitheater is beautiful in itself. New Mexico must take pride in its parks in this area. So well maintained with many amenities. The echoes you create in this setting are fun. There are very nice camping facilities and a picnic area at the base of the area. If I remember correctly, the day pass is $3 or $1 for Golden Pass holders.

JUst a short walk on a concrete sidewalk to the center of this lovely site. Looks like it's handicapped accessible all the way. Many covered picnic tables. A lovely spot full of unique landforms that is probably best in early morning or late afternoon!

Nice place to spend a few minutes and listen to yourself. Interesting rock formations all around the area. Another nice place to explore. Found some interesting pottery shards in the area and left them there.

What does that even mean? Its not very big. Couldn't we carry some water in? Anyway, its closed so if you're planning on making the drive out there check with one of the local inns first and see if they know if the site is open.

The drive was a bit from Albuquerque, but the scenes along the way was good. The amphitheatre was magnificent, the awe of the cliff and height. I was not dissatisfied and would stop there again.

This is a spectacular stop, just off the main road. It is a nicely paved walk from the parking area to the Amphitheater. Stunning rock formation, with several colors of rock, from red, to yellow, to white, to gray. Up against the 'bowl' part of the echo chamber, you can clap, laugh or give a shout out to the 'Bawston' Red Sox, they had won the World Series the night before, and hear it echo several times.

Yes, we got shut out, it was barricaded unfortunately due to those indecisive politicians in Washington. However we could and did pull into the parking area and observed and photographed from a distance... maybe next time... stunningly beautiful!

Yep, as a singer I could not resist singing a song once I got closer to the ridge. No crowds, just peaceful...at least once I stopped hearing my own echo. Great for picnicking too!

Great Place to stop in, beautiful rock formation, history about Indians killing settlers at top and that you can still see the blood streaks on rock is interesting, a bit chilliing, not sure if true.Great echos, worth the stop.

A great stop. Two dollars to get in. Paved sidewalk to the beautiful natural amphitheater. Fun to yell, but even more interesting to speak softly and be amazed a how clear and true your echo comes back. Plus they have first class bathrooms.

An easy hike into a gorgeous canyon where throwing your voice echos back no matter what you call out. A truly natural wonder to see and hear.

This could easily be passed by but shouldn't. It has paved walkways almost to end and then steps to balcony, One of the few places where I believe wheel chair access allows one to get as close as possible to it. The beautiful colors and echo quality is great. Once again, only people there:>
