Lovely small local museum that gave us a flavor of the town and area. The outlaws exhibit just opened.

Covered the local history from the Stone Age man up to the late 60's. With a good exhibition of the tools and equipment used. On leaving we were given a free booklet on immigrant and early settler cooking, with recipes.

Green River is a small but beautiful town. The Sweetwater County Museum is a "must see" if you are passing through. Besides the artifacts on display, the informative staff is hard to beat. They know their history and are excited to share it. Will be visiting there again this summer.

For a small facility, it has a wealth of information and an extremely informative staff.

Nice small museum. Friendly staff. Wanted to purchase fossils but selection was limited. No t-shirts or drink mugs available. This is a small town with limited visitors I expect. Museum was right size for the area.

Situated in a historic bldg., this museum has a small but very nice collection of artifacts, photos, and explanatory info about the town & county history. It includes mining, ethnic, railroad, river, and social history. There is a small gift & book area. Admission isfree and parking on the street is free. Well worth a visit. For those interested in the GreenRiver/Colorado River expeditions of John W. Powell & other adventurers, a walking tour of Expedition Island Park is a good place to learn more. This park is just a few blockssouth of the museum; it has many plaques about the various river explorers as well asbeing part of a pleasant riverside trail system that extends well beyond the park.
