Loved this place! Biggest collection of saddles I have ever seen! There is so much stuffed in one place you could stand for days looking at all of it. So very interesting! You need at least 4 to 5 hours to just skim over the collection. The saddle shop is very interesting and the saddle maker likes talking about what he is doing and is very knowledgeable about the museum. Well worth the stop if you are close.

We visited King's Saddlery and Museum on our trip to Sheridan. Very interesting western history and nice gifts and tack in the store. If you want to see a piece of Western history - take your time and enjoy this Sheridan highlight.

If you are trying to purchase an item from this store and have it mailed to you, think again. Do not purchase from this company - worst customer service experience I have ever received in my life. They told me they were shipping out my hat, and I still hadn't received it three weeks later. I contacted the company and they told me they forgot to place the order. I understand - people make mistakes. But, they didn't even apologize or do anything to try to fix the error. They sent the hat out and even charged me extra in shipping to expedite the shipping since they forgot to place the order in the first place! Any other company would have waived the shipping fee since it was their mistake, or at least apologized for not placing the order. Not even a simple "I'm sorry!" I even sent them another email saying I was very disappointed in their customer service, and I got no response. Shows that no one in this company cares about how they treat their customers. I will never purchase from this company again.

This is a wonderful shop to stroll through and check out. It is known for it's ropes, but had so much stuff, that it was just fun to roam around. Very friendly staff.

The most unusual history of saddles and lariats--it was just intriguing--and so very interestingly displayed, just kept going to the next saddle--you really do not want to leave without seeing them all!!!

My husband and I visited and spent a good hour and a half looking around the saddlery and museum. Words can't describe how amazing, authentic and incredible this place is! There is so much information and history to take in. Over 500 old saddles which were all used a long long time ago. There were guns, knives, spurs, bits, belt carving tools, photos, taxidermy etc on display. All the staff were so friendly and willing to share their knowledge and answer our questions. My mind was blown, just walking around and taking it all in! The saddlery was great too, plenty of souvenirs for sale as well as the usual tack, boots and gear you would expect to see in a saddlery. I am a horse person, but hubby is not and even he was blown away! You don't need to be a horse person to appreciate the nostalgia and history Kings saddlery and museum has to offer! We will be back!

We are not 'horse people' but found Kings absolutely fascinating. Its a shop and a museum rolled into one - and the shoppers are 'real' people too - buying ropes and stuff.

You can't take a trip out west without stopping in to the King's Saddlery and Museum in Sheridan, Wyoming!! Sheridan is an amazing community in it's own but King's is an absolute must see delight. Fabulous, in every sense of the word! You get to enjoy a magnificent collection of old west historical items belonging to the King family and other contributors who are gracious enough to share with anyone with a desire to view these wonderful pieces of history. Not only do they offer the museum at no charge, you get to see where the worlds BEST ropes, saddles and tack are made and visit with the artists themselves. Oh yeah....Did I mention the Queen herself visited this shop when she made her visit to Sheridan. I say, if the Queen thought it was something to see, it shows what the King family has to offer.....and it's free!!! Hard to believe this family is so genuine and generous, sharing such a wealth of history and expertise at no charge. Thank you King Family and Sheridan, Wyoming....The best western town in America :)

You don't have to be a horse person to love this place. Will bring out the old west in every tenderfoot.

Really fun shopping here and getting a historic taste of Sheridan WYO. Located in a VERY BEAUTIFUL downtown!

This is a "must-do" while in Sheridan. So many things available here that aren't offered elsewhere. But the BIG ATTRACTION for me is the museum with the well foot-noted saddles and related horses gear. Not even an admission charge, but they will accept a well deserved donation for museum upkeep.

So glad for TripAdvisor & their rave reviews of this place! Would never guess from the small Main St entry that a huge museum is in the back !!Over 500 saddles & so much more western history memorabilia than you can fathom. Your entry for a donation!! Amazing! Think this should be top MUST SEE in Sheridan ( we saw the others, too)
