We had such fun yesterday, The guys are very professional, knowledgeable, and entertaining. Four of us, all over 60, spent the morning learning about, and firing, revolvers, rifles, and shotguns. Don't hesitate to try this regardless of your firearm experience. Pick your hat, your holster and get ready for a walk back in time,

My husband expressed interest in cowboy shooting, and I came across San Antonio Western Shooting as one of the few places that offer 'sessions'. Their website is accurate in all they provide and offer. The range set-up is really neat with lots of different scenarios. The cowboys took their time to teach about each weapon and how to fire. Everyone was super friendly as should be expected in Texas. As often as we have been to San Antonio, this experience was just another fun thing to do. Highly recommendable, worth the price. Great for most ages.

My husband and I were the only ones there that morning. The two who taught us were very nice, love what they do, extremely patient and relaxed while making it a lot of fun, and educational. Was a great, safe experience and worth every cent.

My wife and i participated in this while on vacation in February. Neither of us had ever shot a gun before. We both really enjoyed ourselves. The instructors are really good. We'd do it again.

As a Mom, I was extremely nervous about a shooting range and guns around my boys & husband. As soon as we met these guys, all my fears were put to rest. Latigo and his crew were extremely professional and there was never a chance that anyone would get hurt. This was an educational experience for all involved. There was a bit of history entwined with learning how guns work and getting to shoot them a lot. They made this a fun experience for all involved.

It has taken me awhile to get this review in since we visited San Antonio Western Shooting the day after Thanksgiving but I just had to write and tell everyone how wonderful this experience was. My brother and sister-in-law, my niece and her husband (who had recent shoulder surgery and was still in a shoulder harness at the time), my husband and myself all went. Only my husband and myself and my niece's husband had shot before. My sister and niece were actually terrified of guns. Not only did they make accommodations to help my niece's husband shoot with his other hand, but they gave each person someone to be their personal instructor for the whole time. They gave very clear instructions at the beginning and explained where these different weapons would have been used historically in the old west. They tried to recreate these situations in mock ups where each person shot a real gun, rifle and shotgun with real ammo. It was very safe and fun at the same time. Dressing up in cowboy gear made the experience complete. They even post your pictures on their website for two weeks after your experience. Thank you San Antonio Western Shooting for making my in-laws from Phoenix have a wonderful Thanksgiving vacation.

My wife and I went to San Antonio Western Shooting today. It was freezing cold. It was kinda raining. It was ALL KINDS OF AWESOME. Seriously. I cannot possibly write in strong enough terms how incredibly awesome this is.The two of us once, long ago (15+ years?), took a handgun safety class. Other than we don't own guns and don't shoot. We've never fired a rifle, never shot a shotgun. You probably don't either. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if you don't like guns, don't ever plan to own one, don't ever plan to shoot one ever again. Call 'em up, book a visit.SO MUCH FUN.I figured we'd have one or two dudes helping us out, but there were at least six of the sweetest, nicest, kindest, friendliest, fun, older gentlemen to make sure the two of us and another group of four had a blast. Shooting rifles at water bottles? Yep, you get to do that. Splitting a bullet on an axe? Yep, you get to do that too. Tennis ball races against others? Yep, you'll do that. Shotgun blasts at Smurfs trying to hold up your stagecoach? Heck yeah, you'll do that too.Honestly, we're just repeating what everyone else has already said. Why are you still reading this? Call them up and book your visit.

Found this attraction thanks to trip advisor...thank you to all who reviewed this before me! I was looking for an activity my son would enjoy while we were in Texas and I knew right away he would like it as he works private security and has his gun licence. I wasn't so sure how I would be since I've never fired a gun and was a little scared. The Cowboys made us feel very comfortable and it was all done very slowly and carefully. I was amazed that I was able to hit all the targets...I didnt think I'd hit anything. I loved shooting the coloured water bottles and was able to split a bullet in half by hitting an axe blade head on. It's worth noting only the two girls in the group were able to do this....sorry guys! Lol

We were visiting San Antonio for a couple of days and thought shooting would be fun. This place is so much fun! You get to pick out a hat to wear and wear a holster while you are there. The people who run it were so nice and we learned so much not only about shooting but also about the local history. Everyone was knowledgeable and safety is a top priority. All the shooting activities were creative and fun. There's no pressure just have fun and enjoy. This is honestly a great way to spend a couple of hours and such a unique experience!

A perfect mix of history, target shooting and fun. The guys that run it are very friendly and safety conscious, if you haven't fired a gun before they'll take care of you. Amazing to fire shotguns, repeating rifles and six shooters all in the same activity. Very well thought out variety of shooting, including black powder which smokes and smells great! Definitely the most fun I've had on a day out in Texas!

Growing up around guns out in the country, I was a bit apprehensive about a "Western Shoot". They have the potential to be hokey and cheesy and not at all what shooting rifles, revolvers and shot guns is really like. Boy did these guys prove me wrong. They set up is phenominal and the knowledge levels are outstanding. They ensure everyone is comfortable with the equipment and you get to dry fire before live rounds are loaded. All possible security precautions are taken, but they are done so in a way that does not interfere with the overall experience. The guys are patient and will answer any question that anyone asks. Being just my boyfriend and I, we were very excited to have other people there shooting, as it helped make for an enjoyable morning. Also, you don't stand in a stall like at the gun range, this is a very interactive range. Anyone visiting the SA area, or even those of us that live here cannot go wrong with this place. These guys rock!!!
