Me and my friend were so excited to visit Lake Caddo for the first time. We lucked out by getting Byron as our tour guide through the waters. He had amazing knowledge regarding the history of Lake Caddo. We we're pleasantly surprised by the tour and actually learned a thing or two while viewing one of the best (and only natural) lake in Texas . I will be back to bring my husband next round with a personal request for Byron as a guide.

Just a short boat ride on a river. Boat captain was not very interesting. Seemed like his spiel was forced.

We took the pontoon boat with Captain Ron last week and had a great time. If you take the paddlewheeler you go into the open lake. Go instead on the pontoon boat which goes into the swamp. It is awesome and the history and fun facts kept us highly entertained the whole time. Come on, people, these jokes were really mild and not offensive unless you wanted them to be. We had family from Boston and Houston and everybody loved it. Go! Enjoy!

Save $20 and 10 IQ points and don't take this mind-numbing, worthless tour. The crew were annoying, unfunny and offensive, and the boat is a total eyesore. Who cares that it's wood-powered when there's no soul to be found anywhere on board. The Ungraceful Ghost has been stripped of all character; and fitted with metal gates and flooring and sideways benches. It's like it wanted to be a Disneyland boat, but it got addicted to meth, so it retreated to the woods to turn tricks, and its captain and crew resent us for having to depend on us for money. By the way, Google the Chautauqua Belle to see a REAL passenger steamship which still tours and retains all of it's original charm and soul.

The scenery was beautiful, the history interesting, but it would have been better if our guide, Byron, had kept his political and racist opinions to himself. He talked way too much; I wanted to ask him to be quiet and let us enjoy the scenery some. He was very knowledgeable on the history of the area. However, he wandered off into political and racial areas some found offensive.

We didn't ride the steam boat but instead rode the pontoon boat. It was just beautiful. Our captain (Byron) was funny and very knowledgeable about the lake and it's history. Words and pictures just don't do this area justice and seeing it from boat is the way to go!

I took a group of Senior Adults from my church. Everyone enjoyed the trip. The scenery was beautiful. The steamboat guide was informative and humorous. I would like to return with my grandkids.

We had ridden the steamboat when it was at another location. We were expecting to go out onto beautiful Caddo Lake. We were disappointed that the owner had to move to the Tall Pines Lodge. The tour now just goes up and down the waterway by Tall Pines. The boat itself is very unique. The owner provides an entertaining monolog as you enjoy your ride. We saw two beautiful great blue herrings along the way.

This historic steamboat experience was wonderful! I was with my father & a few others from Pittsburg, TX. We found your tour online purely by accident. I am so glad we did. The weather was lovely, the crew was so helpful with a few of our older folks which was so appreciated. The Captain provided great local and regional historical information. We did feel you were a little easy on the Louisiana jokes so we’d like it if you’d kick it up a notch. That said, we’d come back in a minute. Many thanks for such an enjoyable day.

The captain was funny and very educational about the history of Caddo Lake. The tour was about 1.15 mins long I think. The sound of the steam and of the paddles of the boat was great. He had a 1st mate too that was on the bottom deck. We got the top deck and great view from up there. There is only enough room for 16 ppl on the top deck so don't wait too long to board. If you buy beer at the lodge then you can take it aboard.

Beautiful scenery on a tour not worth $20 ruined by a sarcastic, rude captain! Captain Ron who thinks he is a comedian (not), went out of his way to denigrate women, insult our President, and make racist remarks. Oh no, he didn't stop there, but went on to ridicule people from other states and even Dallas. I guess he thinks Dallas is a state. He stated he had spent all of his retirement savings on this piece of junk which was filthy and unsafe. He gets to insult his passengers for $20 each in orde to try and recoup his losses. Don't give this guy a dime if you have any brains at all. He is a rude, condescending jerk!

The Graceful Ghost steam boat tour is beautiful gliding along the cypress tree lined boat roads on Caddo Lake. This authentic 1900 steam boat is fun and the Captain certainly makes a wonderful story teller. I believe he could read a phone book and make it funny. This is one tour that I feel I must take anytime I can when visiting Jefferson, TX...just a few miles west of Uncertain, TX. The captain even had a great story telling how Uncertain got it's name..."That's my story and I am sticking to it" he said. The tour requires 8 people so it is best as a group or on the weekend when more people are around. They use a pontoon boat for the tour if fewer people take the tour.

The steamboat was extremely interesting. And what an awesome opportunity to hear East Texas history from a humorous perspective! Thanks for the trip, Captain Ron, SIR, and we'll be back for the pontoon trip to check out more of Caddo Lake!

We signed up for the 10am adventure. There weren't enough on our tour to justify taking the steamboat, so we took the pontoon, which was fine with us! Our Captain/tour guide was Byron and his dog, Pinky :) Byron was a character and seemed to know everything there is to know about Caddo Lake. As we ventured into the canal/bayou, we received a very thorough history of the lake - history, wildlife species, vegetation species and everything else you can imagine! It was awesome! The scenery was stunning -- bald cypress and spanish moss EVERYWHERE! Did you know that Neosporin is made from Spanish moss?? Me neither! Thanks for that tidbit of info Byron! This was the highlight of our trip to Jefferson and I think my husband & I would do it again in a heartbeat! The tour lasts about an hour and 15 minutes. Tipping is appreciated and we were glad to do so. Oh, and a bottle of water is free :)
