What a great place! $10 for a wine tasting of about 10 wines and a complimentary wine glass! The red wines are superb! You will love The Good Guy!

Awesome setting and enjoyed the wine tasting room. Ample sampling and purchased a semi-sweet Riesling. Staff is well versed and informative on wine pairings options. Thoroughly enjoyed this winery setting.

I really liked this winery from the minute I walked in. It is a smaller winery. We were warmly greeted by the staff. We were the only visitors in there, but both workers took a good deal of their time to come talk to us. The wines were really good (especially the Tempranillo), and we ended up joining the wine club. The wooded grounds are lovely too.

We live in the area and stop by Spicewood Vineyards a lot. It's a great little property with some pretty great Texas wines to boot! We enjoy buying a bottle (our favorites are the Pinot Noir and the Tempranillo) and chilling at any of the outdoor tables for a bit. They also have events throughout the year that are always fun to attend. Great place to spend an afternoon!

We were doing a tour of some of the Hill Country Wineries on our recent trip to Austin, TX and IMO, this was the best of the ones we tried. Good selection of wines geared toward the Spanish wine making methods. We tasted several and there wasn't a dud in the bunch. It's no surprise they are so good after talking with their winemaker. His passion for what he learned in Spain making wines comes through as much in the wines as it does in his discussions with guests.Dog friendly, the tasting room is large and open and friendly. the large covered front porch and the tasting room both have tables for gathering with friends to enjoy a glass or two.We enjoyed it so much my son joined their wine club. Give them a try.

This vineyard is right down the road from our family place is Spicewood, so we often take the golf cart over there and sit outside to enjoy a glass of wine, then of course buy a bottle or two. It's a beautiful venue for weddings also! We've had the good fortune of seeing this vineyard grow into what it is today from it's very beginning. I think what people always enjoy as they're driving down the country road to the vineyard is the cows that are usually out and about, sometimes even blocking the road and they just have to sit for a spell until they decide to mooove!!! :) The vineyard is very well run and they do a lot of local charity fundraising there, plus feature local artists, singers, poets, etc. As well, their dogs are usually around to greet all the customers!

One of my fav Texas wineries...I don't think I've had anything here that I didn't like! Following the Texas Wine Map... the beautiful surroundings and delectable wine selections make this a must stop!!! I never leave empty handed!

Been here several times because we lived in this area long before vineyards even existed locally, so had to check them all out once they started popping up. This is one of my favs, laid back and beautiful with a gorgeous patio to lounge while you taste some fine wine. Also very popular as an event location I have been to several special events here and all of them were excellent. We like to keep Spicewood a secret but it just keeps leaking out so you may as well come check it out too!

We live in the area and we've been to Spicewood Vineyards a couple of times already this spring. We enjoy going ourselves, but always like to take friends and family from out of town. It's very relaxing and enjoyable to wine taste and enjoy a glass on the patio. I usually don't go home empty handed either! They have some very good wines!

We stopped here for a tasting while on our way to Fredericksburg. Ended up going to 12 wineries / vineyards over the course of 4 days. I enjoyed their Syrah...best out of the 7! The downside was that we were all ready for some cheese since it was noon and we'd been on the road for 3 hours. They did not have any to sell, but they were slicing up and plating lots of goodies for a private party. It's too bad they didn't have somewhere else to prep!

Really glad this is only 7 miles from home. We take every house guest there and all inevitably are surprised by the place. Wine is very good, tasting room is comfortable and unpretentious (which is important to us). On our first visit last year we were the only people there in the middle of the week. Had a long and pleasant conversation with Ron, the owner. Joined the Wine Club immediately based on the wine and the atmospher, which reminds us a lot of Sonoma -- the antithesis of Napa. Absolutely worth the traveller's time.

This is one of those places that's off the beaten trail, but well worth it. Unassuming buildings but the people and the wines are great. Very reasonably priced. It's fun to visit with the owners. We have visited a lot of Texas vineyards and this is our favorite, bar none. Their merlots and tempranillos are worth the trip alone, but be sure to try them all. And don't forget to pet the dog.

Always personable and accommodating, but more importantly good wine every time. We were made to feel like guests inside their home. The tasting situation is 7 wines for $5. They always do good pours. There's something more personal about wineries that don't have that stopper thing to measure pours. It seems more like they are saying, "welcome - I'd love to share my wine with you" rather than making tastings as profitable as they could be. At $5 a glass the prices can't be beat. They have a gorgeous outside to take in.I found it fascinating that one of the guys who had just been working in the vineyard minutes before, came in and was an excellent server (I think his name was Brad). He knew everything there was to know and was clearly invested in this.
