san saba river golf course

I have been fortunate to have been playing this golf course for 30 years. The small town friendliness, laid back atmosphere, Pecan trees and farms everywhere. The golf course will "lull" you to sleep, with it's beauty, then punish you for an errant shot. Since the city took over the course, there have been many needed changes, and the course has improved by their hard work. If you want to "go back in time" to a friendly atmosphere, I recommend this course, and the surrounding atmosphere of the friendly town. The course itself, demands very accurate ball placement, with trees galore (similar to having Mickey Mantle in the outfield. I would recommend this course to anyone who enjoys golf, and likes a challenge. Old fashioned, genuine people live in San Saba.
