Arche has recently opened a new tasting room with a cozy fireplace in one corner. When we arrived, we were the only guests, so we opted to sit around the fireplace. We did the 4 tastings and I really liked them all. The Syrah was by far my favorite and I bought some to take home. I've been to Napa and several other California wine regions and I will say that Arche is as good as any of those if not better. Great wines and friendly folks, what more can you ask for!!!

We drove out to Arche for the wine tasting. It is in a remote area, but is worth the drive. The wines are really good, so be prepared to buy a few bottles to take home and enjoy.

If you haven't toured the wineries in North Central Texas, do yourself a favor and plan a trip soon.Arche was our favorite of the three. The owners were on site and took time to tell us the story of how they came to own this jewel of a winery. But it wasn't just that. Their medal winning wines were a cut above. We especially liked the Syrah. They offer cheeses and snacks for purchase with your tastings and wines by the glass as we'll. If you live in the metroplex, the winery tours followed by dinner at Ancient Ovens, then an overnight at Texas Kings Inn makes for a perfect overnight trip. Don't forget the galleries in St Jo and the other quaint shops on the square. St Jo seems to just be getting on her legs. But it's worth the trip now.

We visited both of these wineries on the way to eat at Ancient Ovens. Both wineries were very charming and the owners are very hospitable and make you feel right at home. At Blue Ostrich we loved the view from the patio and even had a chance to check out the Ostriches along the vineyards. The winery was very crowded, but they made sure we were taken care of treated everyone like family. They were very informative on all their different wines. It is definately worth the trip out to Saint Jo. We loved the fact that we were in the middle of nowhere, no city traffic or noise. Arche is quite a bit smaller, but the wine is just as good!

The tour was awesome! Grayson was owner/tour guide of Arche and he knew tons of about wine making. I’ve been to tons of wine tours and this by far was the best. He talked about the history of the land, how wine was made to the different containers that help wine. Please make sure you call and make a reservation because it sells out often. This is about an hour and a half from Ft Worth and the drive there is scenic. If you have a free weekend its worth a visit.

My husband and I drove up to Saint Jo on a whim and we stopped in at the Arche. What a wonderful place! It was late afternoon and we were the only guests there so we completely enjoyed the "Best Sangria" and chatted with the owner, Amy Davies, while Grayson, the Wine Meister was mixing Chardonnay in the next room. We also tasted the Yellow Rose white wine and bought a bottle to enjoy home. This was such a wonderful visit and the wines are so great that I know that we will plan another trip to Saint Jo's Arche Winery before the summers end!

I would recommend this tour to anyone. Yes, it might seem far but the drive is very scenic. I felt like I was on my way to Fredericksburg once We got off the highway and it was only an hour and half away from Fort Worth. We were warmly greeted by the owner once we arrived. The tour started promptly so make sure to allow yourself enough time. Also, be sure to make reservations for the tour since they book up fast. The tour group is small and intimate. Grayson, our tour guide, was exceptional! My husband and I learned more on this tour than any other tour we've taken in Napa or Fredericksburg.

My husband and I have visited both of these wineries on several occasions. We are partial to Blue Ostrich mainly because of the view from their patio! What a relaxing afternoon to drive up from Fort Worth and spend the afternoon on the patio with a bottle of wine and great company.

I'm 29 years old and I found the wine and the tour to be amazing. This place is family owned and takes great pride in their wine and the their vines. My girlfriend and I got a membership and will be making several trips in the future and plan to volunteer to harvest in the future.

Our first visit to Arche' showcased some "off" wines, but since then we've been very impressed. One of the great things about Texas wineries is how at the smaller ones you may actually have the winemaker pouring your tastings. The roussanne at Arche' is one of the best around.

Tasting room was a little small, but the wine is wonderful and the atmosphere and scenery are amazing!

Arche Vineyards & Winery may not have a large fancy tasting room, but the knowledgeable and personal owners and great wine make this a place not to pass by! We visited Arche on May 4th. We had previously purchased a Living Social for a tour and tasting. Upon our arrival, Howard and Amy Davies greeted us. Howard began our outside tour of the vineyard on time. He went into great detail the process of growing and running the vineyard. Although the day we visited was very windy, we enjoyed the vineyard tour. We then went into the winery where Howard again went into detail how each variety of wine is made. We finished with a tasting. Arche's wine is as good. We then bought a glass of wine and continued to visit with Howard and Amy for about 30 minutes before heading to our next destination, Ancient Ovens. We enjoyed Arche and will return again someday.

Hi, my name is Grayson Davies and I am the winemaker for Arché. I just wanted to thank you for the review you posted; also, I wanted to let you know that since you came for a visit we have since released new wines. We have over the course of the past couple years increased our overall production and currently offer 10 different wines, both sweet and dry. Come back and see us, thanks :)

It is pricey but well worth it, and the quality doesn't get much better for this area. Cabernet, Merlot, they are all very good, and having been to wineries and vinyards in France, this one is not far behind for a small town in Texas.

Arche Vineyards & Winery is tucked away just North of Saint Jo, Texas (which is between Gainesville and Wichita Falls, Texas) close to the Red River. Even with great directions, you will think you are lost taking the back roads to this amazing find. When you arrive, you see hills of grapes reminiscent of Sonoma California. Is this Texas or Califonia you ask? The views are picture perfect. Don't expect a lavish or elegant tasting facility. But you can expect fantastic Texas red wines, and a wine tasting with experts in viticulture and enology. I was fortunate to meet Grayson Davies, the son of the owners, who is the winemaker. Grayson is young, but has profound knowledge in Texas grapes and North Texas winemaking. Be sure to try all of their wines. My personal favorites are Ryan's Red and their Rousanne. It is a must see on your North Texas wine tour.....
