We have been here several times. You can spend maybe, a good hour here. For a small town, its average. Would recommend it for something to do.

very nice to have a revolving art museum here in Longview. most of the exhibits are wonderful, and we are very happy to go and see as many as we can. thank you

Tucked away on Tyler Street of Longview, TX, is a wonderful little Art Museum! Not only do they house top-rate art, but have fun events including concerts, yoga, and periodic art openings ... Closed Sunday and Monday, but open Tuesday thru Saturday ... be sure and go by to check them out and JOIN US to get notices of all the fun events!

We were fortunate recently to be able to visit the Longview Museum of Fine Arts while we were in Longview recently. The Longview Museum has a permanent collection of over 400 pieces of art work consisting of drawings, intaglio, painting, photographs, pottery, lithographs, seriographs, sculpture, woodblock and works-on-paper. Some of the artists with works in the LMFA are Artrob Tadeusz Lapinky, Gavensky, Louis de May, Sister Corita Kent, Derek Bosher, and Charles Umlauf. The artist, Charles Shaw, has 33 works in their Jack Strong Collection.Among the featured works in the LMFA collection are "Ardath" by Ruth Tears, "Reclining Highway" by Hiram D. Williams, "Summer Breeze" by Emily Guthrie Smith, "Summer Colors" by Herb Rogalla, "Fast Doubletake" by Bill Wiman, "Triangles" by Ruth Bernhard, "Genie de La Science, Observatoire, Nice, France" by Michael Kenna, "Organic" by DeForrest Judd and last but certainly not least, the Sculpture "Torso" by Charles Umlauf.Museum Hours are as follows:10-4 pm, Tuesday - FridayNoon to 4 pm, SaturdayClosed Sunday and MondayAdmission is free but a contribution is always welcome!
