This mansion is only partially furnished as it was in the late 1800s because the space is used for other purposes, but the artifacts and history of the building (and the town) are quite interesting. No cost and worth a look.

We enjoyed our visit of the Schreiner Mansion. It is now owned by Schreiner University. The lady who was working there when we visited was very knowledgeable and friendly. This mansion was built by Captain Charles Schreiner beginning in 1879. He was a successful businessman and was very generous to the community. There is no admission fee but donations are appreciated. The mansion is open Tuesday - Saturday from 11 am - 4 pm. Well worth a visit!

This museum gives you a good background of how Kerrville was founded. The opportunity to go through this lovely home and view all of the original antiques, furnishings, etc., a great piece of history.

This is the former home of Capt. Charles Schreiner, early developer and entrepenauer of Kerrville. The imposing limestone structure is right in downtown Kerrville, surrounded now by shops, restaurants, and galleries.Inside the two-story building you will find period furnishings, most original, artifacts and art of mid 1800s Kerrville, clothing and books and memorabilia of the era. It is recommended that you call ahead for times and prices; currently they are open Wed-Sat 11-4 and admission is $5, but it is apt to change.

Non ho potuto visitare questo museo in quanto era chiuso, ma è valsa la pena comunque fare una sosta. La zona è carina, una piacevole strada con edifici interessanti e di vecchia data e questo in particolare risulta molto bello e ben tenuto. Qualche foto e via.
