Visiting The Grove was a treat! The owner of the house is not only an author of several books and great story teller, but he's approachable, likeable, great host. We're ghost hunters and I was thrilled to see thru my lens a bright blue orb slowly circle his leg and follow him to another room. I highly recommend it.

Learning the history of the house and the mystery of the house. Would like to go back when the garden is in bloom

Mitch was quite entertaining and a wonderful story teller. We enjoyed hearing about the history of the home, its hauntings, and the experiences of others who visited. If you are lucky like we were, something special may come your way!

For our trip to Jefferson, I researched places to see while in Jefferson and this was a must see. I called and made a reservation weeks in advance for a Sunday 11am tour. Several people were there too and it made for a good ghost history tour of the house. Our host Mitchel made the tour fun and educational. He is a great guy and makes his guests feel welcome. The home stays true to the time period and the decor is warm and pleasant. Although we did not experience any ghost encounters, it really is documented haunted by all accounts. Check it out for sure.

My favorite part of our trip to Jefferson, Texas was this tour! Don't miss it! Whether your into the paranormal or not, the house and it's history are enough alone to make the trip. The paranormal experiences and stories are the icing on the cake. The owner is a fabulous story teller! While I was there I purchased several of his books, and so far they are real page turners and I cannot put them down. Fascinating town and house, really don't miss it!

We came here for a Ghost/House Tour. The owner of the house we found out to be the writer of several ghost story & cemetery books that we own. Great story teller.

The owner of this house is extremely knowledgable and fun to listen as he recounts stories about the haunted house in Jefferson that he actually lives in ! My husband felt a tight pressure around his body as he walked inside the house that subsided after a few minutes. A unique experience. He says his ghosts are friendly so not as scary as other tours but very interesting stories. He says a few neighbors will not even come up to the house! Great historical town to visit.

My wife and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary in Jefferson Texas. We had a great time and loved all the things we did but most of all we loved seeing The Grove. Mitchell is a wonderful tour guide and he tells not just the history of his home but the history of Jefferson Texas in general. My wife even had an experience of feeling lightheadedness and dizziness. Mitchell mentioned that happens in that certain room a few minutes after we left and headed to the next part of the tour. We were blown away because my wife felt better once we left that room. Overall you need to see this wonderful home. I will go see it again next time I am in Jefferson Texas.

This tour was excellent. Lots of history to be learned about and very interesting stories by the current owner of the house. His home has been studied by paranormal investigators and psychics. Definitely worth the time to visit.

We really enjoyed getting to visit the Grove. The owner, Mitchel, is very well versed in the full history of the house, as well as the history of Jefferson. He is even a published author who has written and co-written many books about Jefferson and about the paranormal. Although we would have loved for the spirits to have shown up while we were visiting, it was still well worth the $6 fee for the tour.

I have been to the Grove tour home several times over the years. It is my favorite place to bring whoever visits Jefferson with me. The tour is full of great ghost stories and interesting history too. My favorite part is the end when I get to see if Mr. Whittington has written a new book for me to buy. I have read at least 4 and highly recommended. Great place. Don't miss it.

I can't add anymore that anyone else hasn't already said.. The tour given by the owner of his own house was far more then I was expecting. The $6 charge per person is well, well worth the time.. The story Mitchel tells of the history of the house and the paranormal observations were great... We will go back again!

My family of four visited The Grove today. The owner and tour guide, Mitchel, is a gifted storyteller. We found his stories about the home's previous owners, sprinkled with facts about Jefferson's history, to be fascinating. He shared tons of examples of otherworldly experiences that had happened in his 1860 home. You can't miss this tour!
