The Hill Country's version of Stonehenge used to be out in a big pasture in front of some beautiful bluffs out in the country. You'd drive around a curve and astonish your visitors when they saw it and then we'd all get out and explore it on foot.It's just not the same parked on a highway. I don't know if you can even visit it up close unless you're attending a concert, but it doesn't seem special anymore now that it's with the theater. It might as well be just another set and there is nothing special about a theater having a set. For me, it went from WOW to "meh."

I was staying on the south side of Kerrville and a friend of mine from England asked me to get a picture of this for him. I had to slug all the way through Kerrville and into the town of Ingrim to get the pictures. Like many, I drove past the damn place because there is absolutely NO signage to help you locate it. You come around a blind curve over the river and by the time you can see this thing you are past the entrance.I got the picture easily. It's concrete formed fake stones and is already shifting. I suspect it will start falling apart if they don't do something to reset it. it's sitting in a field next to the town baseball park and little to no effort has been made to make it anything special.If you are on 39 it's worth a 5 minute stop. It is not worth a drive to see.

If your in for a relaxing drive lets say from San Antonio, this may be your destination. I've been to the original Stonehenge, and this one isn't quite there. With that said it's quite impressive. The main circle seems to be to scale. The markers outside of the main circle at original don't seem to be at this one. It's still worth the drive.

If one knows about the historical background of the stonehenge in England it will help. Otherwise it is a stone structure. What is interesting is the for the arts theatre and art display nearby. Check out the local listing for the performance and the display of artit nearby. This way u will not be disappointed.

We were in the area and didn't know what to expect. It was definitely worth a stop and getting the kids out of the car to look around, run around and pose for pictures. The fact that there were also Easter Island statues around as well was just another benefit.

Not what you expect to find in Texas. A replica two thirds the size of the original. Even an Easter Island statue thrown in. Well worth a look if your passing through.

Driving down a Hill Country road, you wouldn't expect to see an Easter Island figure, but there are several located on the grounds of the Hill Country Arts Foundation in Ingram, Texas. Originally located on the North Fork of the Guadalupe River and being threatened with destruction, these scale model figures, as well as a scale model of Stonehenge, found a fitting new home at the Arts Foundation. People are allowed to walk around and through the Stonehenge and up to the Easter Island figures, creating great photo opportunities. Its a great resting stop with the shade trees nearby. There's also a Gift Shop across the parking lot if you feel the need to spend some money. The exhibit is free.

My husband and I noticed Stonehenge II on the way from Kerrville to the Ingram Dam, it's right off HW 39 at the Hillcountry Arts Foundation. Visited it in the evening around sunset for some good photos. It's definitely worth a visit. They also have 2 Easter Island heads there.

When we heard that there is "Stonehenge II" in Ingram, we were curious to see it because I've already seen the real Stonehenge in Amesbury. We missed the turn so we have to go back and took other direction. Finally we saw the Stonehenge II, small on the side of the road. Surprisingly we saw the statue of Easter Island too. Nice for pictures. It's free of charge.

Good story board, cool to see, and it is free. Lots of road construction. Missed turn the first time but worth turning around for.

Fun place to visit and take a photo op if you are in the neighborhood or going to the theater there.Not often you can preview two famous sites for free, and at the same time. Even if you have seen the real thing, this is a great reminder.

Interesting stop just off hwy 27 in Ingraham. Just pull off road, park next to exhibit, and walk around it. They also have Easter Island stone faces. Good for a quick look.

Enroute back to San Antonio we got off Rt 10 to take a break at Stonehenge...well, the local recreation that is. We had fun posing for pics then went inside playhouse to used their Rest Room. There we were met by friendly staff who are very proud of their exhibit...and their local productions. Make sure to view their outside theater--soon to be host of the Texas Arts Festival in October. The grounds are beautifully kept. Also be sure to enjoy the outside sculptures near their art building. Great place to stop, have fun and take a much needed break from a long drive.

Located at the Hill Country Arts Foundation in Ingram, Texas, Stonehenge II, with two Easter Island statues as well, was a surprising discovery. A short drive out of Kerrville will bring you to a great spot on the river where you can see art galleries, live plays, and great views of the river. Bring your camera, you'll take lots of pictures!
