Very casual brewery. We were there on a sunny Saturday. There was someone playing guitar indoors. The brewery has garage type doors that were open to the patio and there are also picnic tables out around the patio. All were full. Everyone was so friendly and did not mind sharing tables. There were a couple of games of washers that were being played and a bar-b-que truck was on the premises for those who needed food. Very friendly, almost icehouse, type atmosphere. Beer is good. On this trip they had a new beer with a Citrus flavor. I found it interesting, but my husband, who is the real beer drinker, liked it. They also have a hot pepper flavored beer. It was also good. We have been here before, and will return again. It's a friendly, comfortable place to visit in a country setting.

The surroundings are great, and there were ample seating options. We bring our kids and play games at the picnic benches. The sampler was ok. None of the beers were standouts to us. The ladies serving were not very friendly. Stop by if in town, but don't make a special trip.

Twisted X is a fun place to spend an afternoon. There was live music, cold beer, a food truck and beautiful sunshine plus it's dog friendly. Can't wait to go back.

Craft beer was nothing memorable. Middleton in Wimberley was much better. The food was great in the food truck. The facility was very nice.

After you have had you fill of BBQ at the Salt Lick, stop by Twisted X before you leave town. Neat little craft brewery with a good selection of locally brewed beers. Try their hit sauce too. Delicious.

Stopped in by chance. the beers were very average especially if they are making "mexica style beers" they are alittle too hoppy for my liking. the best thing about this place is the atmosphere and the staff. Too far of a drive for us to go back it would really have to be outstanding. i wa smore impressed by the local food truck out there

I've brought guests to this brewery twice now, and we've enjoyed the visits. It's a country, pleasant setting, and just happens to be only about 7 minutes away from the Salt Lick, making it the perfect pre-meal stop. Anyone with any liking of beer will certainly find at least one they will enjoy. Some are more interesting/unique than others for sure. It's small, and that's one of the things I like about it. Keep up the good work Twisted X!

Close to Austin and a great value. There are several beers to try and choose from. My guests found several that they really like. The country setting is very relaxing and there are brewery tours at the top of every hour - no advance reservations required like some of the local distilleries require. I will definitely go back. It was a bit hard to find because150 has been renamed from FM 150 road to a Ranch Road 150 and GPS maps in rural areas are not as well updated. Get online instructions first.

I cannot begin to describe the awful swill that this place is trying to pass off as "craft beer" you are better off peeing in a cup and drinking your own piss, yeah its that bad. On the bright side they have a nice facility but I guess they wasted all their money on fancy labels and shinny tanks and forgot to hire a brewer. Places like this are going to ruin the craft beer scene in Austin

Made it to Salt Lick BBQ only to be told that we had at least an hour and a half wait before we could get a table. On the way in we saw Twisted X Brewing a few miles down the road. Rather than wait in the heat for a table we headed to this unexpected gem in the Texas Hill country.I ordered a flight of 6 beers and I can honestly say that I enjoyed each and every one of them. The brewery is a bit out of the way for a stand alone destination but add it to your itinerary when visiting Salt Lick for their excellent BBQ. The wine shop at Salt Lick also sells some of their beers in addition to the usual bottled beer such as Shiner Bock.

First, we left Wimberley headed to Dripping Springs. Then Scott saw a sign for the Cypress Creek Reserve Rum Distillery. A quick U turn and we were on a back road to greatness. I can't find this distillery on Tripadvisor so will review it here, along with Twisted X. Dave, the owner of the distillery was on hand to give us the lowdown on hill country rum distillation. He has two rums, a clear and a vanilla flavored. Both were smooth and easy to sip. The vanilla was mild with just a hint of vanilla. This is greatness that comes from very humble environs. Dave is expanding his operations to include a pavilion for tastings and such, Much luck to him and his fine rum.Twisted x is a brewery serving sort of reworked Mexican staples with a few non mainstream brews in there. They were busy enough on a Saturday afternoon but service was efficient. Sat at the outside tables and shared a flight of the 7 beers on tap. They were all okay, a couple were standouts, but, frankly, at this point in the day with a belly full of beef and beer I can't remember which was which.

We took my family from PA, on a tasting..young man behind the bar was very informative and we decided to go with the 6 beers tasting..he gave us the sheet of the beers that were in order on the cutest little board with cutouts to hold the glasses. we went outside to the picnic tables and begin the tasting, (the view is amazing). All really good beers, (expect the one with prickly pear..i didn't care for)..they also have one with a hint of jalapeno..good!! All this in a brand new building that was decorated very tastefully and was soooo clean.. Good Time for sure!!! They also have a tour but we did not attend.

It seems like all of these micro-breweries are so intent on differentiating themselves from each other that they forget that their purpose is to sell a good product. Neat names and fancy graphics cannot substitute for a good pilsner, lager, porter, etc. This place has an interesting location and a nice facility, but the beer is just, well, very disappointing. Looking at the various styles, you have to wonder if they are trying to sell voodoo or brew.

If you like light hoppy Mexican style beer with poor service then this is you place. We stopped in on a sunny afternoon. They had two biker groups in plus a lot of cars bit only two less than efficient servers. The one beer I tried was so so at best. There are better breweries, think Pecan Street in Johnson City.

This is a new beer brewery in the Texas hill country. Our party of four got the flight of five tastings each for $10 per person. These are small tastings of about 2 ounces ea taste at the most. There was lots of foam head on most of the tastings. Pilsners and lagers, mostly in the dark category. Sodas and mugs of beer were also available. There were no tours offered when we went, so be sure to call ahead and check the schedule if this is important to you. Open and covered tables available. There was not very many people there when we went but they were out of trays for us to carry our tastings to the table. We found this inconvenient.
