The Terry County Heritage Museum is located in the former home of Brownfield founder, A. M. Brownfield. The rooms are filled with displays covering the history of Brownfield and Terry County, from Native Americans to the cotton industry, and include historic photographs, furniture, and personal items. The museum director was very informative and helpful with all my questions and was preparing new displays covering the history of sports and important sports figures and teams from the area. Also on the grounds are the old Brownfield Jail and the first Brownfield train depot, which displays additional historical items, including a restored chuck wagon and carriage. Open Tue-Sat 10-12, 1-3. An interesting stop while visiting Brownfield.
