Visited because Eisenhower birthplace was busy. You can read from the Speaker's personal library. Docents were helpful and knowledgeable. I would visit again.

Great artifacts and hands on exhibits. Docent was very knowledgeable and a wealth of information! Don't miss it! Replica of Washington was a real treat!

The Sam Rayburn Museum is a fine and thorough history of the longest-serving Speaker of the US House of Representatives. It contains interesting artifacts like the Speakers rostrum from the US capitol and the original chandelier from the East Room of the White House. It gives political insight in depth. It has many cartoons of the day and letters from important people in the era 1912 to 1961. Allow an hour. Admission free. Bathrooms downstairs. No food, but Cappy's Cafe a few blocks away has a nice buffet lunch. The museum is separate from the Sam Rayburn House, just over a mile away. The house displays furniture, fixtures, and family life. The museum does political life. If you start with the museum, the house visit will go quicker.

This is my first time there and they just had some renovations done there and it is great. I went this first week that they were opened and it is great you get to hear Sam talking and a lot of hands on things to listen to.

I wasn't looking forward to visiting a "library", but this is so much more! Sam Rayburn was a real public servant and Statesman. The volunteer docent that showed us around was really knowledgeable and pointed out pictures/photos and gave us just enough information to make us want to continue on our own. We will definitely be going back when we are in the area.

I am just a history "nut!" I liked everyhting about the museum. It is neat to look back and see how people lived many years ago.

There is no charge to walk into this museum and we spent one hour there. We were the only people there. The museum consists of several rooms that flow his life with photos, artifacts, and messages. While it is informative, it has a feel that it has not been updated since its opening.
