It is not very big but it is pretty. We walked the nature trail and my two kids really enjoyed it. I wish it would have been a little warmer and I would have liked to swam in the river.

Park is all about the river. We enjoy walking our dog around the green space. RV-camping area is always clean and well maintained. The staff is professional and friendly. We take our grandson fishing and to throw stones into the water.

After lunch at the nearby Red Bud Cafe, we walked along the city park and onto the Blanc State Park which is set along the river that flows through town. It is a beautiful setting, well maintained. There are lots of picnic tables, and this would be a great spot for a relaxing meal.

We were in town for an event and needed a place for the kids to play and frolic in between our scheduled events. This park is very beautiful, has nice banks for fishing, and a very fun eco-style play area for two different age ranges. Also, the geocaches in the park are creative and well cared-for. All around, it was a very low-cost and fun place for us to spend a few hours!

After many day visits to Blanco State Park. I decided to rent a screen shelter and stay for a weekend. Since there are only a few shelters, it took a few months to find oneavailable on a weekend. We arrived late on a Friday evening, but there were instructions posted for late arrivals directing us to our shelter. The shelter was equipped outside with a picnic table, fire pit with grilling area and parking space. Inside there is another table (fixed), ceiling fan, lights and wall outlet. We set up our cots, started a fire outside, and enjoyed the clean and quiet camp site. That night it rained a lot, but inside was bone dry. The next night, same thing! The slatted windows let in the light and the (chilly) air, but keep out the bugs and rain. We were in shelter 45, near the highway, and could definitely hear the road noise. It did not bother us, but some may not like it. There are a couple of shelters further from the road, but you cannot reserve particular shelters. Get there early for best selection! The restrooms and warm showers are very clean and just a short walk away from the shelters. The camp hosts are very friendly and helpful, and sell firewood if you need it.I will definitely be back here as a day user, and hope to try for better weather for an overnight stay next spring.

This is a relatively small US state park and, unless you are planning to camp there, not really worth a trip. However if you are in the area and want to enjoya walk or run in beautiful surroundings it is a great spot, dominated by the Blanco River curving through it. If you are in early in the morning the. The bird hide on the far bank from the main entrance and to the right is well worth a visit, a super facility.

We came here to float and lay in the Blanco River and ended up staying for quite a few hours. The park is quiet and well-maintained and the river was cool and clean. The outdoor public areas (restrooms, tables, grills, etc.) were very well taken care of. This was our first visit here, but won't be our last!

We were actually staying the week at Pedernales Falls State Park, which I HIGHLY recommend. We visited Blanco because the fishing at Pedernales Falls wasn't that great. It was a little better here and there were a lot of people fishing. Some floating the river. I'm not sure that we actually saw all of the park or not, but what we did see, I can't imagine choosing it over Pedernales Falls for actual camping. It was a nice afternoon though, an absolutely beautiful park, quiet and peaceful...and clean bathrooms! It was in town, too, which is another reason I wouldn't want to camp there.

We enjoyed our time at this park. We got in some fishing and swimming. Looks like a great place to camp or pull up an RV as well. We saw lots of people making a vacation out of it. Park and restrooms were very clean as well.

Blanco State Park borders the historic town of Blanco and rests along the Blanco River. The town of Blanco is within walking distance of the state park. Blanco State Park has great shaded RV sites with electric and water for $20.00 a night. The Blanco River is great for trout fishing and at the Texas Park store you can rent canoes and tubes. This is a great place to kick back and relax, do some fishing or canoe down the river. One of the photos is of the historic Balnco County Court House located in the town square.

Came on a Friday afternoon and settled in a picnic area near the dam. This is where it's most crowded, even though it wasn't crowded at all. The trees are beautiful and the park is very clean. Hope to come sometime earlier in the day and spend more time. Wish there were recycling bins!

The park is the only state park I know of that doesn't have a gate. This is good because if you arrive late you can still find a camp site if there are any. Bad because there is no restricted acess after hours. The park itself is great. Spent a night here to get away and enjoyed the tranquility. My campsite was further from the main road so the traffic sounds did not bother me.

For being a small park, Blanco is definently worth the trip. Great camping spots, great fishing, and a beautiful river to tube or canoe in. They offer canoe and tube rentals. Great day area and shaded picnic tables everywhere. Screen shelters, tent camping, and rv camping spots. The water is beautiful and perfect for swimming. There are multiple playground areas. There is a beautiful trail and some excellent master naturalist guided walks. The bird blind was especially nice. Very photographer friendly. A hidden gem worth the trip!

We attended as part of the Texas Parks And Wildlife Family weekend trips. There were six in our family. We had so much fun! Although the Rangers had orchestrated several activities over the weekend, we didn't attend all of them. They did provide kayaks and we took advantage of paddling up and down the river! They also provided stoves and cooking utensils for eating. The only thing they did not provide was the actual food. They provided tents and cots as well. The park office had inner tube and kayak rentals too. The kids swam in the river and played in the water fall. The staff was friendly and helpful!

This is the cleanest Park that we have visited in the last 5 years. It's small but is a great place to visit.
