This review is of the National Park onlyNot the most picturesque of parks and quite frankly at times downright boring. We saw zero wildlife - not even a sparrow. We did the whole of the 109 mile scenic driveRestaurants are exceptionally expensive with extremely poor quality food. There are plenty of restrooms available and it is disabled friendly. On talking to a local person I understand that this park is better than the Smokey Mountain Park

This is a small, family operation that is pretty basic... and RESERVATIONS for all aspects are REQUIRED.We showed up with a reservation and had to sit and wait for others that had them to go first.Once settled, and we had a Groupon that cut the price in half, we were given the 'rules of the road' and escorted to picking out the proper sized tubes (they have small ones if you want to bring your cooler along for the ride). We were then shown to the river and walked around the island to the put-in point. After some small rapids (and I whacked right into a really tough rock too fast to enjoy!!!) it's very laid back and slow going. Peaceful and (during the week) completely uncrowded. The float takes about and hour to an hour and a half (SUNSCREEN!!!) and we saw lots of wildlife. A waterproof camera with a tough wrist strap might make a good companion. There are a few branches under the surface... but there's lots of open water. It was overall a very nice experience at a reasonable price. You get two runs down the river for you admission and a bus ride (though the bus does STINK of stale cigars) back to your car.As a bonus, the patriarch of the deal - after hearing it was my 12 year old's birthday present - told him he could have his choice of a candy bar upon his return. It's the little things that make a place stand out, isn't it?

10 of us went to Shenandoah River Adventures to enjoy tubing on the Shenandoah. We all had a great time. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. You pay once and can go down the river multiple times.Definitely don't be afraid of the 'rapids' - they are not big rapids and are the 'whee' part of the ride. The river is beautiful and the length of the ride - about 2 hours, is just about right for riding on a tube.
