This is a unique memorial that has you much meaning. As many have said it is emotional and unlike any I have seen before. The seats represent each person killed and the direction tells you whether they were on the plane or in the Pentagon. I found it more moving that the memorial in New York.

This is a very moving memorial. I was conducting a class in the top floor of an office building when the jet headed for the Pentagon flew over our heads. It was a sound I'll never forget. The memorial has a stone chair of sorts for every life lost there on 9-11. Being there gives you a feel for the enormity of this event.

I was amazed this was not more crowded- but it was nice to be the only ones there. The volunteer docent was standing in the summer heat, and she explained the design to us- which made it even more moving. We parked in the nearby mall parking lot, and walked the tunnel under the freeway- it was a great way to approach it. Highly moving- everyone who goes to DC needs to see it.

The memorial was closed due to weather a repairs. Of course we didn't know this until we got there, and there's really nothing more to do/see there. We had already paid for and used our Metro ticket to get there, so it was a waisted $11.00 for the 4 of us.

The individual monuments are way more detailed and interesting than obvious from photographs. I was there on 9/11 so of course it was a very moving experience. Each monument truly allows a moment of individualized reflection on the person that was lost that day. I highly recommend a visit to this memorial.

Many locals have not even taken the time to visit this memorial since it opened. Additionally, many miss the small sign at the entrance that allows you to call a number on your phone to receive a guided 40 minute walk through the memorial. I highly recommend both this site and the guided audio tour. The tour explains what you are seeing and brings so much more meaning to the design. A must do.

This is a wonderful memorial, a tremendous amount of thought and creativity went into the making of this memorial for the 187 persons that gave there life to terrorist. A nice memorial of peace, solitude, and reflection. It is not easy to get to but definitely worth the effort to get there.

Easiest way to get there is metro, but then you have about a 2-block walk. Serene as you pass the hustle-bustle of the cars and Pentagon employees and round the corner to the memorial. Especially beautiful at dawn/dusk. Incredibly moving and well done.

The Pentagon Memorial is just beautiful. The designers put a lot of thought into the memorial. It was very moving and significant to us.

This is a well done memorial. It doesn't rise to the level of the Vietnam War or Korean War memorials (in my opinion), but is worth a visit.

Profound demonstration that freedom comes at a cost; 187 people died as the jet hit the symbol of America's military strength. Silver benches commemorate each life that ended that day; quiet water and stones are neatly arranged. A place pf solitude and reflection in an ever-busy city. Ask for directions around the Pentagon building and stay on the sidewalks--Pentagon police will assist you.

I am thankful for the opportunity to stop by this hauntingly beautiful memorial and pay my respects to those who were lost. This memorial was so thoughtfully created.

Highly recommended. Try to book the Pentagon tour as well while you are in town. It was highly informative.

We were very much engaged by this excellent memorial of such tragedy. It was made all the more sobering by the fact that there were only around half a dozen other visitors here with us. No photos were allowed which also lets one absorb the mood without distraction.
