I liked the history surrounding how this home was built. The Pope-Leighey House is also on the same property and is a prime example of a Frank Lloyd Wright home. Interesting architecture!

A work of art need not be on canvas to be considered a masterpiece. FL Wright's Usonian concept in house design (keeping costs to a minimum) with no basement or attic demonstrates how livability in 1200 square feet can be accomplished by a visionary back in 1940. Minimalist doesn't do the concept justice given the L-shaped design, the quality of the materials and the attention to bringing light into the house. All this at a price in 1940 of $7,200 and $400 for the architect. Our visit the day after Thanksgiving (their busiest day of the year) was well organized so that each hourly guided tour did not impinge on the other. Our guide was well informed and courteous at the same time. It is not often that a work of art can be obtained for $10, albeit for only an hour. After having visited Falling Water, PL House represents a different approach enabling form to meet function. A worthwhile visit by any measure.
