A late review but my nieces and nephews had an absolute ball and for me it was clean, safe and exhausted them : )

We were looking for something different and fun for my four year old to do and this place is withing a 15 minute drive from our house! I'd seen the signs off of 234 but never really gave it much thought, especially since I knew nothing of it other than those signs. we decided to take a chance and go.The park was very clean at first and all of the slides seemed to be well maintained. We got there right at 11 am, and the park wasn't very crowded. we rented a locker ( for a fee..$5 if I remember right) and set out chasing my daughter! We were a bit disappointed that besides a pool with 2 smallish slides there really isn't that much for the smaller kids...had my daughter been a bit other she could have done the big slides...looked like 9-10 was the small cut off point. She did have a lot of fun in the river ride! Rental lockers are decent size, and are spread out through out the park. seems to be plenty of them too! There are some decent choices for food and drink as well, but if you're more of the " I must always eat healthy" type than I'd consider packing a cooler for your carrots and celery. Available food tends to lean more towards Fast Food /burger and fries/ Pizza and Coke. Bathrooms were surprisingly super clean and seem to be staffed while the park is open. The bathroom guy asked me for tips every time I went in. The 2 bathrooms I went in to both had showers but the front bathroom looked like it had a bit more privacy if you decide to change clothes or shower. Parking is free. Now for the downside...like someone else mentioned, it looked like they were bussing in kids from DC...and by 3 pm it wasn't fun anymore. there was a lot of trash in the pools...in fact the river raft ride was starting to look like the Potomac! There were plastic wrappers, used tissues, and cups floating by...I even saw a condom wrapper in the water. There looked to be 4 times as many people there than what I would have expected the FD/PD would have allowed. There were 2 teenager fist fights between 2.30 and 3 that my daughter got to witness. More than once I had a teen aged person push my 4 year old out of the way to get by. I'd suggest departing by 2 if you have young kids!

My kids and I, ages 9, 11, 14, visited this park today. We try to make it at least once every summer on a weekday when lines are reasonable. The park is clean and has a nice selection of waterslides, including some you just sit on and others that you a need a tube for. My kids are extreme waterslide junkies (which you won't find here), but they like the place. There is also a kiddie area, a pool, and a lazy river. Lots of chairs and shade. The place is a nice size, not easy to get lost. Good selection of food, and not terribly overpriced. They are pretty strict on not bringing in outside food or drink, they check bags. Cost is $15 per person over 48 inches, but often there are Groupons and discounts available. We typically find about 3 hours is a good amount of time here before it starts to get old.

Great park for the little ones, Teens might get a little bored. Six tubes, four mild ones and two rather large ones, a lazy river, sandy beach and a nice pool. A nice afternoon for virtually very little money. Food was a bit pricey.

I visited this waterpark while in the DC area for a conference. I had come here in the past and enjoyed it immensely. It definitely did not disappoint again. There is plenty of space to splash around in the many pools, including a beach pool, waterslides, and lazy river. The staff were friendly and there were many lifeguards keeping the place safe. You can rent lockers for $5 and there is food available for purchase. Admission is reasonable at $15/adult for the day (much cheaper than most place I've visited). Overall it is a great place to visit if you like waterparks.

This water park is great for all ages but geared more towards the 10+ age groups. They do have a tot area and lazy river though. The admission is low so its worth a visit.

We stopped here on our way back from NC to PA. It was on Father's Day so Dad got in free! It was a little over 1/2 way and we needed a break for the kids. We stayed for about 3 1/2 hours before continuing on with our trip and the kids would have liked to have stayed longer. This park is PERFECT if you've got kids under 10 years of age. The smaller size is just right, you don't feel overwhelmed, and the price can't be beat. My only complaint is that the water in the showers was lukewarm at best. I tried two different heads with the same result. I think because we were there early in the season we had the benefit of diligent, fresh eyed lifeguards and clean facilities. It may change over the long summer season, but for us it was great.

Splashdown is a nice local, family oriented waterpark. If you just want to cool off and get wet and don't want to do a lot of walking around a huge park, this is a great choice. We really enjoyed the lazy river, the slides, pools and thank goodness for a separate kiddie pool. The park was very clean and well staffed with lifeguards and life jackets. The boys really enjoyed the sand lot inside the park and I enjoyed the shaded areas and lounging chairs which nestled around the sand lot. The park visit overall between admission and food menu items was pretty inexpensive. Plenty of free parking with nearby activities like a sand volleyball court, baseball fields and picnic areas. Even for your poolside needs, they have a nice store that carries what else but-GOGGLES(if you ever had a child that lost his goggles, you will know why I loved this store).

I expected this to be an great experience since my daughter raved about it after she returned with her youth club. Wrong. This place was a disaster. The pools were very dirty (we got there 10 minutes after opening hours) why would it be that dirty? Because they weren't cleaned. How is it that dipping dots ran out of dipping dots? Only had one flavor. Food too expensive especially after paying so much just to get in, two people $29.00! Lazy river? Not....it was a standing zone with unattended kids swimming underneath and bumping anything with a heartbeat. Over half the lounge chairs we tried to get were broken (went through 20 just to find one not broke). Showers in woman's restroom were filthy with whole heads of hair in the drains, receipts and new clothes tags. Preferred to take a shower at home.

Plenty of slides and activities. Slides are tall enough for adults to enjoy and safe for kids too. Lots of deck chairs to enjoy the sun. Younger child areas too. Food for sale at several places.

I liked the venue very much. About mid-afternoon is get extrondinarily crowded. They are many large groups bused in from DC.
