As the previous reviewer stated, "unassuming" is the best way to describe this place. An old farm house converted into gift shop rooms and a good size tasting room. The "manager" who is the son-in-law was extremely knowledgeable on wine tasting and of the grapes. We are from Michigan and have been visiting wineries for many years. Our expectations of Virginia wine were not too high but we were wrong. This is a great climate for grapes and the local vineyards to a spectacular job. Don't miss this one while in the Smith Mountain Lake area!

This quiet little farmhouse is very unassuming and quiet when you arrive. You let yourself into the house and get to wander through a room or two leading to the bar and tasting area. We had already selected a little gift or two before we even hit the bar since they have lots of humorous things for sale. The tasting was free and we had two whites. Guess what, we bought both they were pretty good. While we tasted and talked we had a nice chat with the owners and looked out on the lovely fields and picnic areas. Had the weather been nice, we certainly could have enjoyed a longer stay outside and some of that wine on the spot.
