The place is not in Harrisonburg as the map notes. It's a about ten miles southeast of the downtown area. The map location is incorrect.v

The Kemper House is in historic Port Republic, a little village with a huge heritage. The volunteer staff here does everything possible on a shoestring budget. Don't expect the Smithsonian but this little site is worth a side trip from Harrisonburg--ask about visiting the nearby battlefield
