Unless it's a magic show, or something you need to be up-close for, I would suggest paying less for the lawn seats - what a great way to enjoy a concert! You can bring in your own wine/beer/foods/snacks/wine and then just grab a spot on the lawn. They do NOT allow standard lawn chairs, since the height would block the view of your neighbors behind you on the grass, but they rent leg-less chairs for just a few bucks, and really helps you relax so you can enjoy the concert (and your wine). Having been to Tanglewood numerous times (the summer home of Boston Symphony up in the Berkshire mountains) I was impressed with how efficiently Wolf Trap is run. Parking is close by, and even the line for coolers moves quickly through a mandatory inspection. Inspection for weapons, I guess, but they don't care if you're bringing in cutlery, corkscrews, knives to slice your summer sausage, etc.

Intimate wood- paneled venue for concerts and theater shows. Overall good acoustics. Apparently they rent this theater for weddings, fund raising or other social functions hence they have removable chairs. And they are not very comfortable especially if the show runs for over an hour and a half. Otherwise, the layout of this theater is well thought of.

This is a nice venue. You can get cheap seats on the lawn for many shows. I've never been under the pavillion, but I can definitely say you can hear and enjoy shows from the "cheap seats"!

I have been to Wolftrap over 100 times in the past 40 years. There is something for everyone here. Quality bands on the way up and down, multimedia performances, dance, theater, are just some of the reasonably priced acts. They also feature dinners, formal indoor seating, and outdoor picnic viewing. You will not be disappointed.

One of the best places locally to see a concert. Only National Park in the country dedicated to the Performing Arts!!!

Whether you park yourself out on the lawn or in the seated pavilion, Wolftrap is a great place for entertainment. You can bring your own picnic and beverages of choice and enjoy an outdoor entertainment experience. You can also dine onsite at their restaurant. The facilities are clean and they can accommodate handicapped access and parking.Be advised that there is a new cooler size limit and the lines to get the cooler inspected can take a while, but the attendants are pleasant and the chatter in the lines is friendly. The gates open usually a few hours before the concerts start, so if it is a very popular group or entertainer, you need to get there early to get a really good lawn spot. There really isn't a bad place in the park, but some areas don't afford easy line of sight if that is important to you.You can find entertainment to suit almost anyone's taste in music or performances and the Barns at Wolftrap provides cooler/cold weather indoor programs when the outdoor venue is closed for the season. The outdoor venue hosts more than 80 performances each summer, as well as 2 free annual celebrations—the Summer Blast Off! with the US Marine Band and a winter Holiday Sing-A-Long.Book your favorites early as many of the acts get sold out well before the shows. http://www.wolftrap.org/about/venues/filene-center.aspx

good variety of performances, music, dance, theater throughout the summer season. Picnicking on the lawn is a favorite.

One of the best venues for indoor and outdoor entertainment. I am a member and have attended several events at the outdoor amphitheater as well as the Barns. Love the new bike trail from the WO&D trail that goes to Wolftrap as well. Love being able to bring your own food and drink as well. The staff is always so helpful and attentive as well. Definitely one should experience. One suggestion is that a stop on the Silver Metro line be added at Wolftrap!

There are great concerts and shows at Wolftrap. The difficulty in parking is minimal. The seats are great, restrooms are plentiful, the venue is beautiful. Check it out!

Loved everything about wolf trap and you will too. It's organized. If you want to sit on the lawn (we don't), families and young folks love it. We prefer sitting inside. There isn't a bad seat in the house. Top performers come to this venue all summer long. The traffic is well controlled and you can get in and out without difficulty. We usually take a picnic supper and sit on the grass or our own folding chairs. Before the performance, we take our stuff to the car.Wonderful night for all ages.

Wolf Trap is an open air theater at Vienna ( 16 miles south of Washington DC). One can enjoy full day picnic and also can enjoy the show with family and friends. Sitting is on ground, you can carry your portable chairs or event-seats or outdoor carpets for making your comfortable sitting arrangements.

Wolf Trap is one of the BEST Venues in the area for seeing live concerts and performances. Over the years I have seen many excellent shows here. The acoustics are great and the site lines are excellent. There aren't any bad seats in the place. I have some really great memories of preformances I have seen at Wolf Trap. Some of my favorite include Gordon Lightfoot and Eddie From Ohio.

Bring food and drinks in to hang out on the lawn before a show and then move to seats in case of rain and for a better view.

Wolf Trap is always a great evening....whether inside or on the lawn. Great for picnics and music. A great venue for concerts.

While Wolf Trap is closed for the season, on reflection you just can't beat Wolf Trap for a great evening out. Now, it is true from time to time some of the performers blast the crowd so you do risk ear damage. In fact, friends in the neighborhood do complain about the racket from the 'younger groups' and management needs to pay more attention to those performances. But, all in all, a good place to spend a night.
