I went here on a Friday morning with my 4-year old grandson to see Rocknoceros, a band catering to the five and under crowd. This was our first visit to this place, and his first to see a band. I was quite amazed by the size of the crowd for the performance, and even more amazed to see a lot of the kids (younger than my grandson) requesting particular songs. They all seemed like regulars, which attests to the popularity of either the venue or the band. We purchased our tickets (very reasonably priced) on line, but we could have just as easily gotten them at the door. If you have pre-school kids and haven't looked for the kid-centric performances, you're missing out on a great opportunity to let them loose (big area in the front for little kids to dance) in a fun environment. I regret not taking my grandson sooner.

My husband and me recently went here to see Mindy Gledhill. It was our first time at this venue and we were pleasantly surprised. It isn't big, but it turned out to be a great venue for a show. There are several tables lined up vertically to the stage (we were lucky to have the center table and the 2 front seats - I could see the dirt on the singer's shoes ;) They also have a VIP area with a dedicated server which is further back. I think I'd still prefer being right up front. There are also a few rows of chairs. I will also mention that this is a family friendly environment (depending on the show). There were several families with tween aged children there. The staff was very attentive, even while the show was going on. They have cards on the table that you stick in a little table stand so they know you require service. We ate prior to the show, so I can't comment on the food. but the drinks were fine.I'd definitely go to this venue again. It's just hard to get any bigger names here due to their size, so try to catch the up and coming stars here before they go big. Also, they had plenty of merchandise and Mindy stayed after for autographs and pictures. I'm guessing most performers do that here.

Tucked away in a Vienna Va strip mall, I found out that this place is extremely popular all ages 21 to seniors place to go for music drinks and bar food. Seating in the concert area can be general in the back with about 8 people per row with 6 rows or at a table which you must reserve to eat and view the show. Bar and food service was efficient. They were a little skimpy on the chili portion of the nachos otherwise the nachos were acceptable. Good choice of draft beers. Generally two shows during the weekend evenings. You can wait in the outside bar area or simply take a seat outside the entrance. Make reservations for table seating if you know a really good band is coming in to play.It was a fun evening with friends. Plus the band that played was actually was led by one of the owners : Luke. Next time we come back to Vienna we will go again

I loved how small and intimate this venue was. I travelled from Australia to see a band play and had a great time. I found it easy to get to and I was happy with the food I ordered before the show. I didn't drive, but there is a lot of space for parking in the area.

this place may be a little hard to find the first time as it is in the middle of a shopping center (so, its not exactly what you expect to see). there is lots of parking around and the lot is well lit and feels very secure.the venue is small and intimate, but the crowd was also smaller compared to some other clubs so what you get is a wonderful place where you can easily see (and definitely hear) the band. people are very casually dressed and are definitely there to relax and enjoy.sound was good, maybe a little overboosted (but that could be how the back, Eric Lindell and Co. had set it up). nice to be able to feel the reverberation from your beer bottle.good selection of beer, sparse but nice selection of wine,, good bar food, and a nice roster of coffees. by the way, there were two different shows that evening (with two different tickets) one after the other, so it looks like you can make it a very full night if you wanted to.

Weekday mornings and Saturdays they host wonderful kids shows that allows them to burn off energy...especially in bad weather when they might be housebound. The kids dance and respond to the performer. Really worth the price if you have kids at home or visitors.

I haven't been to Jammin' Java for years but just went to see Trace Bundy last week and it was GREAT! Unfortunately we got there after all the general admission seats were taken, but we got a spot right next to the bar and there really is no bad spot in the house. The sound was great for this guitarist/entertainer. Good deals on drinks and the food looked okay, but we didn't have any.I'll check the calendar and hope to be back soon!

This venue was significantly smaller than I expected it to be....in a good way. Jammin Java is in a shopping center so there is plenty of parking. Since it is such a small venue, the shows are nice and intimate. I had a Caramel Macchiatto and the Tomato and Mozzarella Sandwich. Both were fantastic! I saw Tyrone Wells perform and his show was amazing. The room was laid out to have 6 or so waited tables in front of the stage and some general admission behind them. If you sit at the tables, be prepared to be sitting VERY close to other people. Almost...awkwardly close. That being said, I had a great time and I enjoyed the intimacy this venue provided.

We make it out to JJ a few times a year to hear folk and traditional music. We enjoy the food and the venue is very nice and intimate, I would venture to say there is not a bad seat there. In the last year or so they have changed for the better the way they organize shows with tables as part of the seating. Previously, if you wanted to have dinner there, you would have to get there ridiculously early to get a table, then go up and order your food and keep checking back to pick it up. Now, you can get reserved tables with wait staff, and that is great. The tables are limited so you have to get tickets early, but once you do that you are all set and no more long lines. They have a wide variety of acts there, something for everyone. Really a great venue and nice not to have to get downtown to hear good music.

From the outside it looks like a generic store in a shopping plaza but inside it definitely gives off a classy punk feel. The staff was friendly and made great food. I was on tour with a band and they definitely went the extra mile to make us feel welcome.

Great live music, sound system and friendly staff. Prices for tickets have gone up more and more and so now expect to pay $16 or so per ticket. A bit pricey if you often check out the live music and they need to develop a membership system so it's a lot less per ticket.

So I love this venue! I've been here... more than 10 times at this point. It's nice to have a music venue that doesn't require the long journey into DC. I've gone to see bands that I like, and check out bands that I might be interested in. The bartenders are super friendly. Specifically there is a female bartender ( I have no idea what her name is) that just oozes sunshine. It's like her favorite thing in the world is to tend bar there! It definitely makes my experience more enjoyable. Bathrooms are usually clean and if there's ever a 'mess' it's cleaned up pretty quickly. The drinks are great, they have a good beer selection (in bottles and on tap). Prices for drinks are relatively reasonable. I've never had their food, so I can't really review that. The crowd is mostly dependent on who is playing. Some nights people are running around and dancing all over the place, but other nights shows could be seated, which brings in a very different crowd. I saw James McCartney there a few months ago and I would say the average age was above 55. On the flip-side, a lot of the shows are all ages, so there can be a bunch of high school aged people there too. I've never seen a fight, or anyone who made me overly nervous. I've never been worried about my safety. I just say this because it's something I always worry about when going to a new place. For me it seems like a much nicer version of what Alley Katz in Richmond was. Anyway, I would definitely suggest Jammin Java. It's the best music venue in this area.

Although I've only been here to see one of my favorite bands (Enter The Haggis), I've been 4 or 5 times and never been disappointed! It can be a little crowded, and unless you want to stand the whole night, you have to arrive early and grab one of the few seats along the side. Jammin' Java is a small, awesome little music venue!

Jammin Java is a bar and live music venue in downtown Vienna, Va. It is located in a small strip mall with plenty of free parking and easy vehicle access. The venue has a bar area and a small VIP seating area (20 seats) and a standing only general admission area that can hold approximately 150 people on a single level. Sight lines are generally good. I found the acoustics better than expected. I used ear plugs and they were a welcome help. The venue has a nice web-site and a very easy online ticket process.Bottom line, I would not hesitate to go back.

It had been a while between visits to Jammin Java (one of the Metro DC areas top 4 venues). The new lobby bar makes it 1000% more comfortable for the early arrivals who want first is to grab great seats.I was there to see an internationally acclaimed artist - Pierre Bensusan - and was able to take advantage of another relatively new feature. Jammin Java now offers reserved seating in two areas - front of the stage and in a slightly elevated space. Even though the venue is small and intimate (approx 200 seats) the opportunity to book the best seats in advance is great for fans. The light menu continues to offer fresh hand crafted sandwiches, salads, and some cool chilli's. With their full bar you can sip you poison preference, have a bottle of wine, or take advantage of the name sake menu of coffees, espressos, etc.The Brindley Brothers have set the bar for the music and club scene with great offerings for families with kidos, live music from world class artists, and local artists and bands looking to perfect their craft. So - bottom line the Best gets better. Check it out.
