It seems to be a nice lake, but the climb from the parking lot is not very user friendly and coming down is extremely hard.

Parked car and had to walk up hill - about 10 minutes to get to the lake, so had great expectations.Lake is okay - small - but not much to do. Also the hours are limited - especially in summer - when boating is actually fun from 6-8 pm, but the lake closes at 6Lots of bugs and water was really dirty -not sure why people were swimming in such mucky water.Beach area is really small

The lake is a clean old fashioned mountain swimming lake. Really gorgeous. Very deep. Small children must wear life jackets! There is a sandy area for little ones that is fenced off from the main lake. It is really well managed and large. Great family swimming and fishing with paddle boats and kayaks/canoes to rent. There is a changing shed and port o potty for the necessaries and a snack bar, chairs and trees for shade. The recreation area is fenced in and managed by some really conscientious ladies who uphold the rules of use. Set in the Shenandoah mountains. On the border of virginia and West Virginia. Just lovely if you are young and strong. Elderly and small children will find it challenging to get to.
