We went there at the end of the season so we will give them another chance. They were out of many wines and out of their tasting glasses. The other issue is that the tasting area shares space with the produce section of the open market store. Not your typical quaint winery. I think it may be better during the warmer months in their farm area.

On the CT Wine Trail. The Farm is only open for tastings a few months out of the year. Yesterdays visit was one of their last open weekends for the 2014 year and not all wines were available for tastings. Many wines were sold out so it was a shortened tasting and only a couple of wines left for purchase. There are a lot of homemade breads, donuts, jelly along with the usual farm market fruits and veggies for sale.

We stopped here for a wine tasting and while the day was bit cloudy, we were able to taste out back overlooking the fields in a tent they had set up. We tasted 6 wines for $10, which also included the glass, 3 whites, 1 rose, and 2 reds. Our server was nice enough and informative. The wines were well done, mainly dry, and some of them were a bit unique as well, with just a hint more fruit in some of them, but not necessarily in a bad way. You could taste what they were trying to add in most of them, and it worked well. The Winter Red was probably the best of the bunch, and the others were at least worth tasting. We would go back. They also have a nice farm market there as well, which looked to have a good variety.

This farm captures all that's good about summer. Local, I mean local across the street grown, local veggies, cheese, bread from Hartford Baking Company and wine from next door. It's so fresh the bee's are waiting on line to get in. The prices are a bit high, but let's face it, it's a seasonal business so they have to make hay while the sun shines. Grab the green beans and beautiful tomatoes. You won't be sorry.

I arrived at Rosedale farms at 445 on a saturday for wine tasting. The website states that they are open until six. There were large signs that said "wine tasting closed". However, there was a couple tasting some wines at the small bar. I approached the bar, and no one would make eye contact with me. So I said "can we do some wine tasting?" They simply stated it was closed. I said "your website states its open until six". They rudely said "the store is open until six, not the wine". No offers to help, no smile, nothing. I'd say it left a bad taste in my mouth, but they wouldn't let me taste(ha,ha, cute pun, right?) needless to say, I was angry after driving 40 minutes to the middle of nowhere. Won't ever be returning. Go to the winery in Lost Acres Granby instead, folks, where the employees are friendly and accommodating.

We first learned of this winery because they were offering a lobster farm to table dinner with the Max restaurant family. We decided not to go for dinner but to try a tasting instead. Unfortunately, the tasting room has zero charm; it is in the back of the produce market. We are red wine drinkers and did not care for the red wines. The first two white wines were refreshing. The people were nice but the only bathroom facility is a porta-potty. I was very glad that we did not plunk down the big bucks for dinner!

The farm itself is charming with local produce, honey, breads, etc.; however, the wine experience is only so-so. The biggest drawback is the single portable bathroom located in direct sunlight in direct sight. The shaded patio has about ten tables. If you're passing by anyway, I'd stop. If you're making a special trip for an afternoon of wine, I'd consider some of the other beautiful vineyards in ct.

We recently took advantage of a family package to tour the corn maze, which came with water, apples, and most importantly, Mrs. Murphy's donuts. My six year old and sixteen month old had a blast in the corn maze. It was pretty simple and not stressful for little ones. After the maze we visited the farm stand and had an impromptu picnic on the terrace of local cheese, bread, and produce. It's been a nice long growing season and we were still enjoying fresh raspberries. To wrap it up, my husband and I tried their wines. Some very nice, relaxed and drinkable wines here. All in all, this was a relaxing family outing on a beautiful fall weekend. The staff was solicitous and treated everyone great and made us fell very welcome. I would definitely visit again.

This is one of many farms in the area selling fresh fruits and vegetables and one of the best ones. They also operate a vineyard. Many of the white wine varieties they sell are from their own grapes grown on the property. I don't have much of a palate for white wine, but those that do say it is very good and a good value. Worth a visit.

Want fresh corn? And other fruits and veggies? Stop here. They grow much of the produce on the farm, and then also bring in goodies from other local vendors. We love this place - such a great part of Simsbury.

Rosedale's has a great farm-stand, with a huge selection of fruits, vegetables, and baked goods, as well as some of their own wines. In addition, there is a nice walk you can take through the farm and back to the river. And last they have facilities (tents) to accommodate weddings or other parties.

Though I have not attended any of the wine tastings, this is our go to for fresh vegetables & fruit. It's opening is the best sign that summer has come.

Call ahead to find out wine tasting hours. Bring a friend or two.Shop for your fresh produce before you start tasting the wine or you'll wonder why you bought so much of their good stuff.

Beautiful fruit and veggies. Great selection. Much of it grown on the farm. The wine is so so.. but you can have a wine tasting party and it's really a lot of fun. Some of our friends really enjoyed the wines so my personal taste should not be taken into consideration. Great place!
