I agree that it was difficult to find the brewery. As a helpful hint - drive all the way down the road and over the RR tracks then go toward the old mill building. The beer was excellent. There were some potent brews but they were still tasty. I liked the music vibe inside. Apparently other people liked the place too because there was a steady flow of people.

Stubborn Beauty is a small CT brewery that is a bit hard to find, pleasant to visit and makes yummy craft beer. I’ve been to several CT breweries and this is one of my favorite to visit and consume. It’s a bit difficult to navigate to as it’s in an older area of run-down buildings adjacent to train tracks. This only adds to the character. The inside is cool, friendly, and welcoming with picnic tables (on the inside) for you to slowly decide which beer is you favorite. SB is pretty much a keg only operation at this point and you can buy growlers on the premises or bring your own to have filled. Once inside you are told that a sample of all of their offerings of the day will cost you a mere $3 and that will be applied to any beer that you purchase. They make a wide range of beers, unlike other breweries that concentrate on specific styles and don’t venture too far. Some of my favs are Porter Justice, How Rye I Am which is a farmhouse ale, Prompt Peeper rye, and Australopithecus which is an awesome version of a Belgium Pale Ale. They also make a tasty Flanders style sour. The tap room is open Friday night and Saturday afternoon.Being a big craft beer fan and local to the area and visiting three times, it was past time for this review.

I have been here a few times now. Really good beer and great people working there. They have a large selection of beers available in a wide range of flavors. Good prices too. Hard to find even with a GPS so pay attention to the directions (GPS may send you down railroad tracks - keep going across). The parking lot is also muddy - just be aware of that.

Hard to find, but worth the trip. The beer selections are wonderful, and the staff are fun, earnest and friendly. Best offerings in breweries in the area. Only open Friday nights and all day Saturdays, but don't miss it. Join the crowd and find this place - you'll be glad you did.

Not being from Connecticut, I had to decide quickly where I would visit and which breweries were worth a stop in the brief time I was blowing through. When I found that this particular one had a brew called "Speaking In Tongues" I thought it was speaking to me, so I punched it into my GPS and dropped by. The brewery is in a dilapidated old building that could use a little spiffing up to make it a much more desirable place to visit (maybe grow some hops up the brick walls or something; at least clear the grounds). But when I pulled in, several other cars were landing spaces alongside, and we all got out and made our way to the tasting room of this small-time brewery, together. Apparently the beer from here is getting around to restaurants and stores and has a pretty healthy local following, but I hadn't personally heard of it before, not being from here. Once inside, I was informed that a taster flight of the brewery's variety could be had for a mere $3, and that expense could be applied to any beer purchase I might want to make. Unfortunately, I was going to be getting on a plane soon and couldn't take any liquids. The guy who was sharing all the information about the beers and telling the stories of the business' beginnings was really very engaging, and generous as well. When I offered to buy an empty growler, he handed it to me and said my $3 would be applied, since that is what it cost. In other words, I had a nice time talking and tasting good beers, and I walked out with a free souvenir. Enjoyable visit and enjoyable beers. Bottoms up!
