The clubs was closed on a thursday night. I was told that it was only open on weekends. It was disappointing . It's so much about the club I wanted to see it

This is still a great stop over for tourist. The feel is really really authenic and comfortable. We had a great tour by Robert and got a couple of bones hot of the grill. We went back Saturday and listened to Mickey Rogers and his band. Sooo good. We plan to return next year if not sooner. Thank you guys for the memories!

We and some friends planned a Blues Trail Trip and ended the Mississippi segment in Indianola on March 23, 2013. We were extremely disappointed to find out that the Club is closed for renovation and currently only has entertainment once a month. We had called the club's phone number and were told that a band was playing that night. However, when we arrived only the manager and a few others were there. They were extremely nice and gave us a private tour and explained the history of the club. B B King donated the club to the Blues Museum last year and it is under their management and supervision now. BB plans to play there at least once a year. Because of dwindling visitors it has been expensive to have entertainment each week and details of future performances were rather sketchy. Even though we had phoned ahead, we weren't given correct information.

THIS was 'the place' where the famous congregated and played ... not a 'juke joint' but a classy Blues Club. B.B. King married the daughter of the second owner and eventually bought this club. He plays here once a year.... It's on a residential tree-lined street, around the corner from a HUGE B.B. King statue, located in a park with playground.

My husband and I were staying in Indianola and had Club Ebony on our to do list because of an article we read in National Geographic Traveler. The club is a blues club open since the 40's and BB King now owns it. We decided to go early-around 5:45. The open sign was on but no other patrons were there. The staff was very welcoming and we had a few beers and played pool. No band was playing...guess it was too early. Because we went so early, i am sure this is not indicative of a typical night at the bar.

Club Ebony is a blues club, a lineal descendant of a classic Mississippi "juke joint." We had read about it and planned a stay in Indianola as the last stop in our own Delta blues tour, following several days in Clarksdale. We were not disappointed. B.B. King was not in town, but the house band headed by the late David Lee Durham was featured that evening, and they were very good. They usually opened for B.B. when he was there,Although we were the only white people present (until a few obviously drunk and rather offensive young men, whom we described as "plantation owners," wandered in after a while), we were made to feel quite at home. The music was great! We were very glad we made this one of our stops; it was probably the best live music locale on our trip. Unfortunately, David Lee Durham, who had led a remarkable life, died last year - a real loss!

ed allora se si è sulla strada del blues, come si fa ad ignorarlo? Dentro è immenso! Lo credo che lo ritenevano "one of the South’s most important African American nightclubs". "Jones (il primo proprietario )was really the guy that kept the Negro neighborhood alive" ora quel ragazzo è LUI: il Re del Blues! Long life to the King.
