The fountain is absolutely beautiful. It sits in a little park just off the Plaza. The pieces are being restored right now, but the fountain will reopened and ready for fountain week in April.

The J. C. Nichols Memorial Fountain is stunning! It is appropriate for this memorialization to the man who actually created the wonderful Country Club Plaza district adjoining this fountain. This must be enjoyed in the warmer months when the water is spraying across the fountain. J. C. Nichols was responsible for Kansas City, MO having more fountains than any other city and second only to Rome! His late son Miller Nichols continued the vision of his father for several generations and today one must stop and sit and enjoy this fountain as well as many other Kansas City, MO and Johnson County, KS fountains! And one must see the Plaza during the holidays when the Christmas Lights are brightly adorning most buildings. STUNNING!!!Daniel H. Disney & Charles Elias Disney.

Beautiful fountain at the corner of JC Nichols Parkway and 47th Street. Located at the tip of a park (Mill Creek Park) right at the entrance to the Plaza. Beautiful statues spraying water and there is seating at the edge of the pool. Great place to people watch. This is the fountain they always show on television during Kansas City Sports broadcasts. It is currently under renovation as December 2014.

The JC Nichols fountain is a peaceful place even with all the foot traffic. It definitely showcases Kansas City as a city of fountains.

It was fun to,see the water in all of the fountains dyed blue for the playoffs. This is a very impressive fountain located in a great area for walking, food and shopping.

This fountain is a cool place to stop when you are visiting KC Country Club Plaza area, arguably the most hip place in town with famous restaurants, shops and people hang out by the river. If you are into KC fountains fan, this might be the easiest one to see. When we visited, there was "river-fire" festival going on and so Plaza area is filled with people, free international dance show, music and then eventually fire in river at night. Fountain water is also Blue at that time since Royals are playing and winning. Heard it turns to red when chief plays.Fountain itself is cool. I wish it shows more authenticity rather than copying Italian or European features in this area. Still it is fun to visit.

When we have out of town relatives or guests they all want to see the Country Club Plaza, and they are all amazed at the number of fountains in Kansas City. They have all loved seeing the beautiful J.C. Nichols Fountain on the Plaza, as well as the other fountains and art work there and along Ward Parkway. It’s always enjoyable to show guests the Plaza area and then take them to Andre’s in Main Street for lunch.

Pretty cool fountain. It was shooting yellow shaded water when I was there, though I heard it can be different when you go to see it. Hard to miss if you're going to the Country Club Plaza area as it's on the east side of it

I don't know if it was the day I went, but the water in the fountain was Royal Blue! It was majestic! Located in really nice area downtown and a must see.

This is the most photographed and famous fountain in Kansas City. It serves as a memorial to Jesse Clyde (J.C.) Nichols (1880-1950) who developed Country Club Plaza, the 1st suburban shopping center in the U.S. It's located at 47th Street and J.C. Nichols Parkway. If you're headed here from the Plaza, it's a little tricky to get to, especially in moderate to heavy traffic. We eventually parked for a short time on J.C. Nichols Parkway just northwest of the fountain.

This fountain is not only beautiful but a piece of history. J.C. Nichols built the country's first shopping mall at this site the earlier part of the 20th century & it is still thriving. The fountain has benches & makes a great place to sit, relax & enjoy the beauty of the fountain.

This fountain is by far my favorite of any fountain that I have seen in the world. Be sure to bring a good camera with you and shoot several angles. A beauty beyond compare!
