I was coming through Rolla over the weekend on my way to the local brew pub when I heard this surf music coming out of this hole in the wall bar. I stopped in and I was absolutely blown away with this young guy Al playing lead guitar surf music. He was playing Misirlou and if I didn't see for myself I would have thought it was Dick Dale busting out his chops incognito. After playing a few more surf songs the band played Texas Flood and this time Al busted out some Stevie Ray Vaughan chops. I was shocked to hear and be able to watch up close such talent in rural Missouri. This band is not your typical middle aged cover blues band you hear across the Midwest. These guys have a lot of talent but I suspect the locals don't realize it. The place should have been packed and there were only a few of us standing there watching this guy shred. WOW!
