big lake state park

This state park has been destroyed by flooding 2 or 3 times in the last few years, but they rebuild it and it seems to improve a bit each time. Its a flat park area, with good RV sites (I didnt see water connections, just electrical) with big trees for shade and lots of picnic areas. There is a swimming pool at the park, and water access to the lake at the north end. Rulo NE and Mound City MO are only a few miles from this park. There was 1 small bar and grill near the camping area, but no gas station or convenience store nearby, at least not on the east side of the lake.

This place has been flooded so many times that the most attractive thing about the place is that it shows the "Never say Die" spirit of Americans. It is a beautiful place with a great Restaurant, when it is cleaned up and open. Just call ahead and pray that it hasn't rained in the last year.
