All of the Mark Twain National Forests are great places to hike and get away. Just driving through the forest is enjoyable. Try find geocaches here.

Ended up on the road that went through and it was a long scenic road. Enjoyed the view. May go back and spend more time there.

A million years ago, when I was more of a free spirit, I went to a Rainbow People gathering in the Mark Twain National Forest. I only stayed overnight and left early the next morning because I couldn't deal with the culture shock. I guess it wouldn't of been so bad if I had been used to camping in the wilderness, with almost no food or water except for the nearby river.

Mark Twain National Forest is a vast place to see. If you hike, leave a trail of bread crumbs, or if on horse, he will do it for you.So much to see. Overnight campers can be done around Crag A Lee. The Ozarks at its finest on these trails.

A great scenic stop, can definitely spend an entire time hiking, scouting, and finding great wildlife.

You can pick up a map at the Ranger Station in Cassville showing all of the trails. Fun place to hike or take the jeep out for an afternoon. I've even been known to have some fun with the camera out there.

Great camp ground and trout fishing at the Roaring River State Park. Lots of people catch lots of fish at the river just not me. They just look at me and smile. The trout hatchery is right here and the fish are plentiful. I like the lodge at the top of the hill. Good home cooked food.

The hills and foggy background is pretty. Lots of curves though. You might want to bring some Sprite.

We go through the forest on our way to my sister's and it is really pretty scenery. Don't go through at night as it is just way too dark and spooky, but during the day really beautiful.

Mark Twain Forest is a very well kept area with lots to see and do! Lots of hiking trails to go on or go horse back riding.

I love to hike and photograph - this area is definitely a great place to hike (not so much photography due to the density of the forest where I was). It is rugged and there are several hiking paths to suit most anyone.

I like there is no city, buildings, etc., but wish there were family picnic areas along road sides.
