This is neat to drive aroung and look at. With a lot of shopping in the area too. I don't really know what all there is to do with the railroad, I will have to check it out. But it is fun to look at all the cars.

It was great when we went, no one was there had the trains all to ourselves took tons of pics. There was a guy there decorating the train for Christmas and he was kind enough to take us on a tour of them.

went from Warrensburg to Independence, MO. Smooth, uneventful ride, somewhat expensive food, nice familiar scenery.

I've taken my children on this when they were young, and now I get to take my grandchildren! This is definitely a memorable experience. Go when it's a nice day, as the train goes out for 30-45 minutes or so, stops, and you can get out and they have a little area for games, etc. Then you get back on and it goes back to the station. It's like you are stepping back in time. Highly recommend.

Our little boy is just in love with any type of trains, so we did the ice cream train out in Belton, Missouri. It was a lot of fun. 2 and under are free. They come around with ice creams in bowls and a few types like mini mms, surpys, sprinkles to put on your ice cream. He loved just watching out the window. Before the train ride gets started you are welcome to walk around and look at the other trains they have. There is no ac so it can get hot but with the windows open and the fans going it wasn't horrible and the heat that day was over 100. Totally recommend if you have boys that are just train crazy.

Train fans and "off the beaten path travellers might enjoy a ride on a1920's passenger car which is linked to a 1950's diesel locomotive. The short trip (45 minutes) travels through town, country and even parallel to the highway. Childrenand adults) enjoy waving to the stopped cars as the train passes rail crossings.Volunteers run the train and serve the food (hot dogs or ice cream depending on the run.) Watch out for splinters if you're riding on the outdoor picnic bench car.Check the website for time and days of train rides.
