The historic railroad station, located on the waterfront, is reborn as the history museum. Though not enormous, it is very well done, and offers a concise overview of the history of the area, even the Ernest Hemmingway connection. When done, stroll over to the marina for a great view. Well worth an hour or so.

We were visiting the area doing genealogy research and found this charmer in the lakeshore park. The staff is well-informed and displayed obvious pride in the museum. Though an event was going on at the time of our visit, we did not feel at all slighted. The museum has a small gift shop and three display spaces highlighting the history of the area. Well worth an hour or so when looking for artifacts from the area.

We decided to go through the museum on a rainy day, and it was informative. Would recommend this if you have about an hour or so to spare.

While visiting Petoskey, we decided to check out this museum. It was delightful and informative explaining the history of the area. It didn't take hours and hours but yet enjoyable. I do wish they had longer hours which would make it easier to work into a day's outing.

Looking for somewhere to go on a raining day and found this place. So much history in the area and this place shows a lot of it. They had a great little scavenger hunt for the kids that kept them busy while we were looking around. Kind of small but they packed the stuff in.Lots of parking.
