This historical village is a real hidden gem. Worth a trip any time for history buffs, but if you can come during one of the events when the buildings are open and re-enactors are working it is especially nice.
Realkayakjack
I grew up around here; several of these exhibits, I have been in when they were still being lived in and used in real life. It is nice to see pieces of our community retained here so that others can learn about hte area and the people.

A very interesting historical marker. One side gives a history of Okemos. The other side is a history of Chief Okemos for whom the town was named. Be sure to read both sides. Located on Okemos Road near the SE corner of Okemos Road and Hamilton Road. Worth stopping to read.
