Place is closed now. Closed a couple of years ago. Too bad they tried to cater to the bloomfied Hills crowd and blow off the blue collar types. Only problem was the track was not in Bloomfield Hills it was in the heart of blue collar-ville. We went there with friends when the place was empty and tried to get a drink and check the place out. They had tables reserved for VIPs but would not let you sit down unless you were buying dinner. Again the place was empty and these were crappy bar tables ropped off in the middel of the main room. They told us to go stand by the bar seats were reserved for prefered customers. I was counting the days before they ran this into the ground and it didnt take long.

Pinnacle Race Course is mostly closed now. This hurts me because I helped build the place. Was a nice venue, but I guess the purses were too low.

Ughh. This place is awful. It's unbelievably small compared to Washington, California, and Kentucky tracks. It has since closed. Its no wonder, either. The layout of the club house left a lot to be desired.

We road out to the racetrack and much to our surprise the whole complex is CLOSED up! Didn't make it without advertising - too bad looked like it could've been a great place with the right management,

Pinnacle Race Course in New Boston, MI., is the newest thoroughbred race track in North America; opening this past July.Located at 18000 Vining Road, the new entertainment facility is close by Detroit Metropolitan Airport. My wife and I recently had the sheer pleasure of spending a delightful afternoon watching the ponies run, and betting a few also. The entire site is in Phase 1 of construction: there is a Corporate Pavilion containing wager windows, a large number of Simulcasting stations, and a well put-together bar. Comfortable outdoor bleacher seating at the Finish Pole can accomodate 1,000 visitors at a sitting. The Paddock nested between the Pavilion and bleachers is functional, and allows horse players a final look at the race field before horses enter the one-mile, oval track. The track is state of the art as to footing, which allows for optimum racing conditions in all types of weather; and provides for additional safety to the horses. I believe Phase 2 of construction includes a permanent Grandstand.Currently the horse mix is predominently Michigan and midwest bred, but races featuring larger purses do attract well preforming horses from outside the midwest. We visited Pinnace on a Friday and were informed that the track runs a Dollar Day promotion Fridays, pricing hot dogs and a small glass of domestic beer at $1.00 each. And we sampled that offering, too. Parking and admission to Pinnace is free for the remainder of the racing season. The team associates in all customer service related areas were just uniformly terrific. We felt warmly welcomed. Our visit left us with the impression that when fully developed, this race course will rival many other top flight race tracks in looks and ambience. We're going to return here as often as we can before they shutter the season in November. Even now, the facility is family friendly, as evidenced by the number of children we noticed on our visit. The track web site can be Googled for additional information.
