This place has a varied venue, from theater, concerts, and plays to a museum. There is so much for the younger generation to do these days but the museum is a true hands on experience for kids. Watch for the newest displays at MCA or a new play or show, or go on-line and plan your stop in Midland, this can often be a full day of enjoyment for the family! Prices are not overly expensive and vary as to what is being shown.

MCFTA is a stimulating and exciting arts venue. From symphonies to folk music, theater and children's entertainment, art classes and more, the MCFTA is a community center for the arts. It is especially nice that the auditorium is big enough to attract 'star' level entertainers, but intimate enough to really feel the music.

The three year old and her 31 year old daddy lived the finger paint wall (no mess magic) and musical instruments. It is all good.

I remember going here as a kid and seeing all of the cool displays, kind of like a science museum. they have different themes during the year, and also have many plays and shows.

We attended a concert in the main arena and also a separate craft fair spread over a number of reception areas reception areas. This in itself illustrates that the building can be used for various types of functions. The sound quality at the concert was satisfactory and the group performing were excellent (illustrating that top acts are attracted to the centre). The main arena has a somewhat basic feel about it but is still reasonably comfortable nonetheless.

Good spot to catch concerts and plays. The other half is a museum, with a kids touch interactive gallery. They also have changing collections from art to motorcycles. stop in and check it out.

Entertainment centers like the Center for the Arts are usually found in large cities. Midland is so lucky to have this center. It is beautiful inside and out. The grounds are lovely and the area features a really great weekend art fair in early June with entertainment outdoor and good food and great art. The Christmas Art show is equally great and is inside the building offering art and food. The entertainment that comes to Midland all year round is really first rate and again we are so lucky to have it. If you have never gone you are missing out on a lot. The Hall of Ideas is a great place to go and take the children and spend time "hands on". The art work on display on the top level is very good too and the Lego show this past summer was a wonder to behold plus the tables and tubs of Lego's for the kids (big and little) to try their hand at building was a great way to spend some time. Tangled that was set up by Dow Gardens was one of the most inventive and fun ways to spend time that my daughter and two grandchildren have done in a long time. You truly got tangled into the art you were creating and it was such fun (parents and grandparents went in with the kids). Hope you didn't miss it!

Midland is such a nice community and the Center for the Arts is wonderful. Just attended an art fair that was great. Have been there to many things with grandchildren also.

Year round entertainment; classes; local community theater as well as professional entertainers - just saw Steve Martin last week - hands on museum for children, they bring in special exhibits - currently have a Lego exhibit - it is worth a trip to Midland

this gave a great little overview of what life was like when Henry Dow started the Dow company and the struggles of life. very fun to go through. Also even though it was really hot I would have loved to go through the wet lands, we saw a deer just wandering around as we drove by interesting little town. Try Sharlene's resturanthomemade food, very nice salad bar!!!!!

For those of you who are looking for a neat exhibit and small town museum, the Midland Center for the Arts is a great place to visit. The MCFTA usually has a great seasonal exhibit as well as an entertaining music and science wing which allows children to learn in an entertaining way. The concert hall also gets some big name acts occasionally, which is a nice touch. As long as you aren't expecting something on the scale of the Detroit Institute of Arts or similar, the MCFTA will definitely impress.
