My wife discovered Rocky River after taking our kids to Reed's Goldmine nearby. Although she doesn't drink wine, she fell in love with the Rockin' Red. We came back as a family for the Grape Stomping day, which was so much fun and a life experience. It was a beautiful day to walk past the rows of grapes. We left with a case of Rockin' Red. Later, we returned for a Valentine's Day tasting, complete with pairings from a local bakery/cupcake-ry. It was a charming place for married couples, dating couples, and groups of singles who refused to be left out on Singles Awareness Day. They also had a foodie truck on site to provide snacks and dinner. We look forward to coming back for future events.

We visited Rocky River Vineyards as the 5th winery on a trail we created east of Charlotte, NC and it was the surprise winery of the day! The woman who did the tasting (currently enrolled in school) was very pleasant and very informative even providing a great selection for dinner. The tasting room was a bit small but the two tasters really made everyone right at home without any long wait. These wines were superb and we even purchased the Christmas spiced wine package. It was nice to try the wines, the frozen drinks, and a hot drink. We recommend this as one of the top vineyards in the area and we will return when we have more time and maybe also visit the gold mine which is the oldest in the country.

We happened upon this vineyard after trying to visit Reed Gold Mine (note to others, the gold mine is not open on Sunday). We had an enjoyable tasting, with a knowledgeable and friendly guide. The vineyard is small, but has a lovely screened in porch, and patio areas for enjoying a glass or two. Try the slushies (the peach bellini and blueberry are delicious mixed together). They also offered grape picking, for a very reasonable price.

I was in the area and looked up a local vineyard because I had a little extra time in my schedule. As I drove up the driveway I was very surprised at what I saw, what a beautiful piece of property. The winery was very inviting as I made my way up to the front door. There was a tasting going on when I walked in but the staff member still took the time to acknowledge that I walked in and greet me. The couple that was doing the tasting already were very friendly and allowed me to jump in with them. The employee, I wish I could remember her name, was very helpful and informative. I enjoyed the wines so much I left with a case and the frozen drinks were spectacular. My favorites were White Gold and Niagara. We used the Rockin’ Red in our frozen drinks and everyone could not get enough. I highly recommend this winery – bring a picnic lunch, do a tasting and buy a bottle of your favorite while you enjoy the view.
