We arrived after my wedding finished at Addison Oaks, which was amazing. Once we got to the campground we were going to decide who was sleeping there and who would be going home at 10 pm. We got to the campground around 5:30 so we had plenty of time to figure out the car situation and sleeping arrangements. But the staff and police non-stop harassed us about how many people we had and how many cars were parked there. After about an hour we had all the cars moved except for one car that planned to leave before 10:00 (which was the time they gave us until) but they wouldn't stop hassling us about it. We had kegs left over from the wedding that we planned on drinking there but they told us we couldn't tap the kegs or else we would get arrested. We had no problem with that and never took them out of the car but they wouldn't stop coming by and checking to make sure we didn't tap them. Later that night the cops came again to tell us we were too loud and then counted to make sure we didn't have too many people there, they even shined flashlights on everyone to check. At one point they just sat at the road and watched us. My husband and I couldn't even enjoy ourselves and some of our friends ended up leaving early because they didn't want to deal with it anymore. The next morning we asked our neighbors if we were too loud or bothered them and they said they couldn't hear anything.

Saturday, August 23 was a beautiful day for a wedding. It was held at the Addison oaks banquet center, then all respective guests were told to follow the new happy couple to the camp ground where they had reserved unique yurts. The second we pulled in to get our group situated, we were treated with total disrespect by the most rude people I have ever met. The county sheriff had the nastiest attitude towards everyone. I will never forget the way he talked to my fiance and I. He specifically said" I'm so sick of seeing you're faces, I think I will search your car". Only because we were not explained the difference from what the colored passes ment, so went back up to the office to have the rules confirmed.( like respective guests should do ) and I have always been taught to have respect for your authority, but in this case, the authority this specific officer was given went directly to his head, and tomorrow (Tuesday, august 26, 2014) I will personally be calling the office to retrieve the officers name. I will then contact and share my thoughts with whom ever I can on how un professional and nasty he was to our group that was nothing but kind to everyone. The wedding ceremony was absolutely beautiful, like I said, but how ignorant for an "officer" to ruin the night that a new magnificent couple paid money for. So from then on the night only got worse, every other " officer" made it a night to make sure all campers were harassed. I will NEVER go back to this camp site , nor will I EVER refer any one to spend their money there!

I don't know what bug crawled up some of these other peoples butts, but my experience with Addison Oaks was beyond pleasant. Upon arrival to this beautiful park, I was warmly welcomed by the friendly and knowledgeable staff. While checking in, the girls up front were very helpful with picking out a site, and even informed me of all the activities at the park and where to find them. While the Buhl Trail, the paved one that runs around Buhl Lake, was closed due to a prior arranged bike race, it opened up later that day and was fine the rest of the weekend. This was posted at the Contact station where I checked in, so I was well aware of that happening. My favorite part about the park was the fact that there is a Oakland County Deputy on site at all times. This insured I had a nice quiet night, and felt safe all the time. There ended up being a time when the bathrooms near me were closed, but when I took the time to ask the staff why they told me that someone had taken the time to plug every single toilet with paper towels and had actually cracked the sewer line! There were a ton of kid activities and absolutely beautiful trails. I don't know who does the upkeep on their trails but I hope he's there for a very long time.

Incompetent staff ruin what would be a 5 star rating. Previously the clueless staff have taken my money and seen the bikes on the back of my vehicle for me to discover that the park sidewalks are closed so a private group could run trials and that we could not use our bikes. Upkeep is slow and so repairs are needed which take a very long time to complete which is bad news since everyone pays to enter.

I booked this campground several months in advance for my parents, who were arriving at the end of a month-long RV trip out west. Their site had a break in the fence that followed the path to the playground. Instead of staying on the semi-paved path around the corner, everyone else cut right through the middle of their campsite (saving maybe 20 yards of effort). Hundreds of people, dogs, bikes and scooters walking between your car and your tent day and night. Park officials said there were no other spots available, despite evidence to the contrary. They "fixed" the problem by putting up crime scene tape and then orange cones (classy), but it didn't stop the riff raff parade from considering your grassy patch their own public access. Campers were crazy rude, stopping frequently to harass you for having the nerve to want to enjoy your own paid campsite. They even came over in the middle of the night to vandalize the tent area (while taking pictures) and removing the cones. No enforcement of after 11pm quiet hours as most neighbors partied hard until at least 3am. No courtesy, scummy folks - a low class wonderland.

Loud music and fighting until 4am.not family friendly at all. Way too many partners drinking all day and night. Not safe for families.

This was our second and last stay at this county-run park. The grounds and area are very pretty but as I said, it is high priced for what you get. They offer a large, nice, and level site with only water and electricity hookups. No sewer is available but they will send a crew over to pump out your tanks. No cable is offered but the lack of tall trees makes satellite reception a breeze. If they lowered the price by $10 per day, it would be priced right in my opinion. The laundry and bathroom were closed unexpectedly and without notice or explanation. It's a very popular place on weekends and holidays and we went to meet friends there, but unfortunately it doesn't meet our needs.

Was honored to attend a wedding and reception and couldn't have been more amazed. The ceremony was in a garden and the reception in a large, elegantly appointed room. The food was outstanding and the cheese and fruit bar before dinner was to die for. Great walk out terrace overlooking the park.

We always take the grandkids here for a wonderful day at the park. Nice setting, wonderful tunnel of trees at entrance to park. Clean too.

Great Mt. Bike Trails and always a nice clean park. Can't beat having a nice local park like this in the area and even within riding distance.

I have been watching the new trails being created. Along 32 Mile Rd. they are making a deck/s to go over the wetlands. It is looking great. Meanwhile, I have hiked only parts of the many trails within and they all have been very nice and scenic. Most people think of Addison Oaks as either a banquet center or for fireworks on July 4th. BUT there is so much to do there. Great camp sites too.A very very nice place to relax. (although I tend to stay away during the July 4th times) Easy to see the fireworks from a distance.

Campsites are spacious and well kept. Lots to do. Beautiful park. Friendly staff picks up trash daily! Top notch security provided by Oakland County Sheriff. Close to Romeo..Rochester...yet far away and blissfully quiet.

My dream wedding has always been at Addison oaks... My dream came true, but it was better than expected. We were treated like royalty, the quality of service- and food!- was beyond compare. From the beginning the staff friendly and extremely helpful and supportive. Everything was perfect from start to finish. -Katie and Dave
