The wife and I stopped here last on our wine tour.....should have been first! Excellent late harvest riesling, three ciders on tap. Small tasting room, but staff was friendly and entertaining! Many people came in and all were accommodated. We bought lots there.

This was our 3rd annual trip to TC to do a wine tour. We were recommended to stop at Verterra and what a great recommendation it was! The building is set amongst other buildings in Leland, so it didnt stand right out. We found it a little difficult to find. All 6 of us found the wines were fantastic. The staff were extremely knowledgeable on their wines products, which was helpful for us. We ended up buying quite a few bottles and will certainly return in the future!!

This was my first time visiting the TC area wineries and Verterra was my favorite. It is small, so it wasn't so overwhelming. I love late harvest Riesling and theirs is a winner in my book!!

Verterra's wines are very much worth your visit. There is not a winery in Leelanau that doesn't have at least something you'll like but there are some like Verterra that offer some very special wines. I am a lover of Red so there Reserve Red is always very good, rivals big named Cabs, and is one of my favorites. All the whites are clean and crisp and balanced. Very good and tasty. If you like Ice Wine the Tundra is fantastic! I'm not a huge fan of sweet wines but this is one we buy for the Holidays that is a perfect aperitif. Also check out the Hard Cider, great for Summer. Ask about their wine club too. It's also nice to have a central location in Leland to add to it's vibe.

We love wine and have to stop when we are near a winery. It is rare when we can't find a bottle or two to our liking. This was no exception. Our party was able to stock up on a red and a white that was semi-dry. We enjoyed our brief visit and felt that prices were in line with most wineries that we visit in the US. Our friends were members, so we followed their recommendation. They were right! Stop in and enjoy!

We're not wine experts by any stretch of the imagination, so this is not a professional opinion but if you're looking for a fun stop while walking around Fishtown or on your drive around the Leelenau Peninsula, this is a fun stop.

We stopped by Verterra Winery tasting room and shop in Leland last Saturday afternoon and had the good fortune of meeting the owner, Mr. Paul Hamelin. Mr. Hamelin is truly one of those people who has a real passion for what he does, it shows through in his conversation about his wines. Our group of six tasted three wines each and everyone enjoyed each and every one. Mr. Hamelin and his staff took their time to explain the wines to us and answered all of our questions. You don't want to miss Verterra if you are in the area!

When in Leland, you visit Fishtown and all the attractions but now just across the street is some of the best northeren Michigan wines around. The whites are some of the best I've had and they have hard cider as well. A great place to go to get out of the hustle, grab a bottle of wine, then head over to Fishtown for some smoked fish or cheese.

Verterra has a tasting room on River Street in Leland, and its a place you should stop and visit. Reasonably priced wines of many varieties. They also make and sell "ice wines". These are expensive, but packed with flavor and are very enjoyable. Knowable staff and a friendly setting made this a worthwhile stop.

This winery was recommended to us by another vineyard we were at earlier in the day. The staff was friendly and we opted for the 5 wine tasting to get a great variety of their wines. Te unpacked Chardonnay was tasty as was their base red and white which we left with 2 bottles each. If you're touring some wines on the Leelanau side, this winery is a must visit.

We stopped in and the place was very busy. The staff were very friendly. You could try 3 or 5 tastes. I did 3. The unoaked chardonnay was great!! I wish like some of the other places we were at in the area they let you keep your glass as a souvenir.

Just off the main area of Leland is a quaint, family owned winery, now operating their second year. The tasting bar is tastefully done and the staff, most of which are family, are very knowledgeable and fun with which to chat. There were 14 wines available for tasting on the day we visited, with a small fee to taste five. The pour was very sufficient to get a good taste of the wine. The wines were excellent with a good variety from which to choose. For a young winery they should be proud of the awards they have already received. Be sure to stop by if in the area (they are not too far from Traverse City) but don't wait until spring as they might be low on selections!
