We camped here for a long week-end and had a great time. The staff was friendly and helpful. The beach was across from the park.

We stayed here around the middle of july and we had a great time. This park is super clean and the staff was great and friendly. They even offered to help me back in my trailer to my campsite. What we really loved was that you could go to the campground host site and borrow board games lasso golf or even grab a book. The host site also had popcorn available and held different activities throughout the week for the kids. The bathrooms were very clean and so were the showers. We stayed on the west side of the campground which is the newer side I would recommend staying on the inside loop as we were on the outside loop and when it rains the camp site floods. The beach is across the road but there is an overpass you can walk on to avoid the traffic. The beach was really nice and sandy and the sand was soft unlike southern lake huron sand. The park has a strict noise policy which is nice so you don't have to worry about people partying all night. I would recommend this park to anyone with a family that wants some piece and quiet.

We like this state park as a beach destination. It's deeper water than at the Caseville beach, which can be more fun. But, there are many rocks under the water. So, it can make tricky conditions wading. Decent bathroom facilities. Picnic and grill areas.

My family stayed at Sleeper State Park for 4th of July weekend. Upon checking in, the staff was helpful but not very friendly. It had rained the morning of our arrival and much of our site was underwater. By the end of our 3 night stay the water was almost gone. There are two bath houses; one relatively new one and one very old one. The old one never seemed to get cleaned so we walked or road our bikes to the newer bath facilities. The beach, across the street, was beautiful. In addition there were a lot of biking trails which our kids enjoyed. Overall it was a nice experience but I am in no hurry to go back.

This is a great beach to spend the day with family and friends! This is our 2nd year coming to this beach (always during "Cheeseburgers in Caseville" week). Bathrooms are clean and have changing areas and the beach does have a volleyball net.

My family has been visiting this campground year after year for the past five years, and we will be back again next year! The campsites are very large. We have a pop-up camper, a tent, and food tent set up on one campsite and there is still plenty of room left for the kids to run and play. Bathrooms and showers are kept well stocked and very clean. Campground hosts always have something fun planned and are super friendly. They offered free coffee, tea, and cocoa in the morning, popcorn in the evening, rock painting, etc. The kids had a wonderful time at the beach. It is rocky though so don't forget your water shoes!

I spent a week in the park and found it to be an overall good experience. I have a few suggestions though. I am limited in my mobility and so we camped a few spaces down from the main gate close to the dumpsters. They were clean and well maintained so i was not concerned until Friday morning at 7:30 a.m. when they were emptied! REALLY??? They were also emptied at the same time Monday morning. I was not impressed! The staff for the most part was pleasant and helpful with the exception of some of the girls cleaning the washrooms. I asked them to refill the soap container on the wall and they laughed and rolled their eyes at me and walked out. (It never did get refilled)On a positive note, the restroom facilities are some of the nicest I have ever seen. Very modern and extremely clean. There were lots of showers and short wait times if any. There is also a park lady that we were disppointed we only met her on our last day. She runs the small lending library filled with books and games for use. She was a lovely lady and very friendly. The beach is fabulous with lots of room and clean sand. You will have to make time to watch the sunsets which the area is known for. They are spectacular! The water was wonderful and we took advantage of it everyday! I really cannot wait to go back to this park. I recommend it to anyone!

I am disgusted with the Rangers and DNR and how they handled quiet hours at this campground. I did not enjoy my visit because the stress it caused me to worry about getting removed late at night. I witnessed Rangers/DNR waiting at the road of a campsite for campers to laugh, talk, or just make a noise to loud for them to walk up and warn the guests around the campfire. Absolutely ridiculous for this to happen. I was approached many times throughout my stay for reasons such as my 5 kids were giggling to loud telling stories around the campfire at 11:30pm or when my daughter screamed because a spider crawled on her, DNR came and warned them. I can understand if other guests complain or we are heard from the road but to sneak up and wait to see if guests were going to be loud is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!!! I will NEVER stay here again. PS, Tell Kim the Park Manager that the garbage pickup should not be at 7am, it is in the quiet hours and woke everyone up.

Day use area has a very clean and sandy beach area. Nice parking and facilities. Easy to get to and on opposite side of road from campground.

This park has it's good points, but it has some bad points as well. All in all it's a decent state park. Some sites offer a little more privacy than others. Some sites offer no privacy whatsoever. We were on sites 36 and 37 and they are very, very large. A trailer and 3 big tents fit nicely with room left over to play games and such. The bugs were pretty bad. There was quite a lot of standing water around the camping area and along the trails which I'm sure contributed to the bugs. The bathroom facilities were clean and always stocked with TP. The showers were ok. Not much water pressure in some though. I was surprised it was as quiet at night as it was considering we were there over the 4th of July weekend (the park was completely full), and the fact that the park is very close to the main road. The campground map was deceiving. I expected our sites to much farther away from the road than they were. The dump station is not friendly to porta-potty users. It's strictly set up for trailers with hook-ups. The day use area and beach area of the park are so-so. You have to take stairs to the beach. We did not use the beach because it is not dog-friendly. They sell firewood at the park (it was very good firewood that made an excellent fire to cook over) but they do not sell ice like most other parks. I'll probably go back, but I will get sites on the back side of the north loop next time.

My family visited this park/campsite last August and LOVED it! We stayed on sites 160 & 162. We had 3 families with a total of 6 adults and 5 kids. We had plenty room but might stretch out to 3 sites next year. Our sites were decent in size and shady as the map explained. Although i may have to argue "level". We parked our pop-up camper all right, but there were a few areas that were completly useless due to a cluster of trees or unlevel ground. Just a warning - you can only have 2 motor vehicles parked on a campsite at any given time. We did have to shuffle cars a few times. Overall, It was very quiet most of the time and at night there were NO CRITTERS! We couldn't believe it! From prior stays at other camp grounds we were planning to lock up every crumb with locks and chains but there was nothing! There was still plenty of wildlife in the area. Our kids hunted for bugs, saw chipmonks and squirrels. The south side (side we stayed on) seemed to be much quieter than the north side. There was a movie playing Friday and Saturday night near the entrance. Facilities are clean. The only issue I came across was in the bathrooms, there are plugs for hair dryers/irons etc but they are direcly next to the wet sinks with no where to set the blow dryer. Seems like an electrical nightmare waiting to happen. Luckily I like to camp without these things, but I saw a few other people struggling. The bathrooms didnt seem to smell either so i wouldnt hesitate to have a spot closer to the bathrooms, although its not a long walk at all from our sites. There was a short path between a few sites so you could easily cut through to the bathrooms and not disturb other campers on thier sites. The walk to the beach was not very long. We had a couple babies in strollers in our group - I dont reccommend taking the footbridge. Dodging traffic is faster and there isnt too much traffic on that road anyway. Just be careful because when there is, they are going very fast! :) On to the beach - it was beautiful. Very clean and not crowded at all. The tide was pretty low when we went so there was a nice sand bar the little kids could play in the water and not have to worry about waves knocking them over. I did not venture into the bathrooms at the beach but the area seemed pretty clean for a state park.

Wonderful views, good parking, nice town amenities. Nice Michigan State Park with great beaches. Has changing and restroom facilities. It's a downward walk/steps to the beach but wide open and a beautiful 'thumb' view and location.
