The walk through both areas is very nice and both had great views of the marshland and river. We visit every time we are in the area. Good for all ages.

This park is well designed and well worth a visit. Walking high above the marsh or on a boardwalk on the ground is a great way to see the natural beauty of the area.

An amazing little park with well-maintained walkways that lead to a breathtaking view of the Galien River near New Buffalo, MI. There is a boardwalk that leads you along the Great Lakes Marsh or follow the 300' Canopy Walkway to a 60' high Marsh Overlook Tower for an extreme view of the river and surrounding wetlands. Finding this gem of a park off the Red Arrow Hwy was amazing. There is no entry fee and it is accessible via hard-surfaced, barrier-free hiking trails so that anyone can enjoy this local park with an unexpected view that will leave you with rush of scenery to renew your spirit.

This was near the B&B that we had stayed at, and recommended by them for a 'nice place to stroll through the woods'. It was exactly that...take the time, because it is definitely worth a 1/2 hour stop...especially to see the fall colors and the marsh lands.

I love finding little nature spaces that are readily accessible and yet removed enough from the surroundings that you can give yourself a little break. My passenger saw the aerial platform from the highway. Parking is easy. There is a ground-level boardwalk that you can get to via a zigzag trail (now with handrails!) or the staircase. The boardwalk goes deeper into the marshlands than I thought. We then climbed the stairs to the platform. I’m not a fan of heights but I walked through the canopy of trees and out onto the platform overlooking the river and marsh lands. Gorgeous—a little slice of heaven right next to the road! One thing though: during autumn, watch out for falling and rolling acorns.

Contains a couple of trails. One to a man-made vantage point overlooking the river, the other takes you down to the river.

We were lucky to have found this new park just down the highway from New Buffalo, Michigan! We, and our grandchildren, ages 11 and 14, visited in July, 2014. The park has new and very nice wood walkways through a marsh and two different lookout areas over the Galien River, a peaceful and picturesque area. One lookout area is very high. There is no cost. Currently, there are port-o-lets at the parking area, but there may be plans to add facilities at some later time. It is worth a visit! This website will tell you more about it: http://www.berriencounty.org/parks/?dept=1&pid=185

They have just completed a brand new board-walk through the marsh area and to the river. One goes to a high overlook and the other at ground level. They are in the process of making it all wheelchair accessible, so check with them on when that will be finished. A nice nature hike for the kids and beautiful views from the look-out.

This is a new park that just opened this year and is very laid out. It has a board walk down to the river and and another walk up to a tower that overlooks the Galien River you can see kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards going down the river. A very nice hike, well planned out and taken care of. It is new so they are still working on some things. They could use some trash cans along the trails, so please be sure to take your trash with you when you leave. There are port a potties at the entrance only. Great views of the marsh and wildlife.
