great for families and especially children, has lots of interesting facts and things to see and do, and if you are lucky you might just see Punxsy Phil.

Many different interactive exhibits regarding weather, situated in an old Post office. Great place for kids to have fun while learning about weather I was employed as the project manager by the company that designed and installed the first phase of this museum. We stopped by late lat fall while on a trip through PA. Phil's stump was brought indoors in two pieces and finished indoors. The wood on his bed came from an Apple tree in my backyard. Stop and see the pig, the cat and the frogs. As you walk around the lobby look for the low spots in the floor near the walls. These are in areas that used to be the windows in the post office. So many people shuffled in and out that it wore down the floor.

If you like learning about the weather or have a desire to do so then this is the place for you. Filled with different weather exhibits, the Weather Center educates those of all ages on the weather. There is a variety of fun exhibits for children, including the green room where they can play weather forecaster, an exhibit that allows them to create lightning and thunder and the most popular being the spiral slide.

If you're a weather nerd, like me check this out. Though it's geared toward younger kids, it's still not a bad place to visit.

very informative interesting and fun area to check out. You can actually see PHIL the groundhog in his little home through plexiglass and see how he lives year around until it is time to predict the weather.

We have done a great job , making this a fun learning center. Something that is very real in comparison with big city kids museum centers. Bring you and make the comparison. I know the groups I have come with ranged from 4 year olds to 9 and they had a ball for about 1 hour . So I thought it was money well spent.

Worth the stop just to talk to interested volunteers. Center, largely for kids, is full of activities and trivia. Found it by accident, but look forward to going back. Really explains with jhands on activities the influence of weather on our lives.

We visited the Weather Discovery Center as part of the 4th of July week long celebration in Punxsutawney. It was very well done with interactive exhibits that kids actually interact with...as opposed to other hands-on exhibits kids look at briefly then move on to something else. Lots to learn, interesting for adults and we met PHIL , the real groundhog, and had photos. We all enjoyed our time and the staff was both helpful and very polite. The Tornado slide was a hit, and the exhibits were interesting and fun.Recommended for elementary kids, but even teens would have fun doing a forecast in front of a green screen. The $5 fee per person was appropriate and benefits the kind people of Punxsutawney.

This attraction is geared more for school aged children. Very informative to learn about local weather systems.

Fun, great place for the kiddos, but we enjoyed exploring the center while in town for Groundhog Day.

This was a great place for kids to explore weather. As a 27 year old, I even had fun looking and playing with all the activities they had available. You could pretend to give a weather forecast, make a tornado, and there were slides and gym for kids to play on.

This small, hands-on museum is very good, especially for kids. There's a good-natured display of all the pomp, ceremony, and history surrounding Groundhog's Day. There's also a miniature fog "tornado", a thunderstorm-creation corner (complete with flashing lights and booming drums), a TV news station where you can pretend to be a weather news reporter, a map of the U.S. on which you can arrange Velcro weather icons, an interesting display on the truth (or falsity) of weather-related folk sayings like "red sky at night, sailor's delight", a spark-creating device that shows how lightning is made, and a little movie theater that plays 20-minute shows about the weather. The staff are very friendly and eager to answer any questions. The museum is also within walking distance of Punxsutawney's only other attraction - Punxsutawney Phil, the famous (but lethargic) groundhog himself, who lives at the town library three blocks away.

We popped in here during our morning in Punxsutawny and our 3 small girls loved it there. They would have stayed longer, but we had to keep travelling.

The activities are interactive. Getting to be the weather man was a hit with the group we were with. The staff were very friendly.

I teach special education and have had class field trips here a couple of different times. Amazing!! The kids LOVE it, the Discovery Center staff is amazing and it is very educational. I think my highschool aged students got more out of the trip (educationally) than the elementary aged kids that I have been there with did, but it is great fun for kids and adults of all ages.
