High Rocks Vistas were beautiful! Warning signs galore since the cliffs are shear but it was well fenced so we had no chance of falling. It was rainy and foggy that day so our views of the clouds resting in the trees looked amazing. The creek below was frozen over mostly and the places that were melted looked like intricate lace. It was gorgeous... I'm definitely going again.

The big attraction here is the cliffs! You park level to the top of the ridge so its an EASY walk to the overlook and views. Many repel there so its fun to watch the daredevils. Looking down you see the Tohicken creek. Go on either side of the cliffs and you can walk down and wade into clear chrisp clean water. Great for a picnic. A short drive down to the bottom offers a whole new part of the park. Picnic table tall trees with plenty of shade, the creek flows right thru the park. Water is shallow in most parts with nice pockets of private pools. No real food in the park but on your way up and out there are a few good spots!

River is pretty nice. Water was low and clear for fishing but still a good time.Caught some blugills in the river on smallmouth flies. Trails in the park are kept up.

We saw a pileated woodpecker as we pulled into the parking lot which was an awesome sight! We had a great picnic near the stream. Some tables have been there for many years, so it's a good idea to choose carefully, and to take a tablecloth/blanket. We then walked across the bridge which is closed to vehicles and up the hill to High Rocks Vista. It's a relatively easy walk through the woods, but watch out for rocks/mud/roots across the trail. There are several overlooks down to the stream. Many climbers enjoy the challenges of the rock face and you're likely to see them out on the rocks. You can continue past the overlooks through the woods and down to the stream for a longer walk. The woods keep it cooler, so this is a great place to visit on hot summer days. The park has no entrance fee and is a pack in - pack out facility, so please take your own trash when you leave.

This place is amazing. We went here for Mother's Day first time here. There is a beautiful stream that you can get your feet wet or go trout fishing in. You can have a picnic or grill they have charcoal grills. Or bring your own. There are great hiking trails to the most beautiful seenery I have seen in a long time. If you are an adventurous person there is also rock climbing. You can bring your pets also. I can not wait to come back and have a picnic and bring our dog he would love going in the water with the kids. Great experience.

That's the first word that comes to me when I think of Ralph Stover State Park. Not that you'll never run into others there but on a Sunday morning which is when I have always gone there if you go early enough meaning before the casual hikers and dog walkers get up you can hike the whole trail and only run into a handful of other hikers and bikers. So that means that for long stretches of time you will feel like you have the place to yourself and unless there's a plane in the sky or dog barking in the distance it's quite peaceful. I like to begin by parking by the picnic area near the intersection of Stump Rd and State Park Rd. You cross the red wood bridge, wind around past a few houses and halfway up Stover Park Rd. turn right into the woods (no markings but you'll see the worn trail) and the actual trail begins. In a few minutes you're at the High Rocks overlooks. The trail continues on and as it gets rocky and rutty with roots this is where most of the looky-loos stop and turn around. You can hike year round but some parts can get slippery and muddy. If you're out of shape be prepared to catch your breath a few times. I like to hike all the way to the end by the campgrounds, drink some water at the pump (when it's not turned off for the season) turn around and go back. The whole thing can take a few hours out and back depending on how often you stop to admire the views or to just sit and meditate.Remember to take your garbage back out with you and if you can pick up anything you see along the way to help keep this beautiful park pristine.

This park is out in the "boonies" which makes it nice to go for some quiet time. I have always had a nice time when going here.

Ralph Stover Park has two entrances: the main park entrance off of Stump Road and an upper area for High Rocks Vista off of Tory Road (from Route 611) or Tohickon Hill Road from Point Pleasant (Rt. 32). If you want a hike up hill and through the trees, go to the main entrance and enjoy the creek. My sons loved throwing stones in the water when it was deep and, one year when the water was low, we found tiny little frogs only about 1/2 inch long. I've never seen such tiny little frogs before or since. After you've had fun playing in the creek, you can cross the bridge (it looks like a covered bridge but it's not covered), and take the road uphill. You don't have to worry about cars - none are allowed except for the few residents who live along that stretch of road. Once you reach the top of the hill, take a right into the woods and you find yourself soon walking along a trail called "High Vista Rocks." If you follow this trail all the way to the end, you finish in Tohickon Park which is along River Road, Route 32. This is an excellent day trip for the family. Pack a picnic, take a hike, and enjoy beautiful upper Bucks County! I live here and love it! We go to this park at least once a year. If you're visiting Bucks County, PA, this is a wonderful spot to visit.

Beautiful park. It is kind of steep and you have to be careful if you are hiking - especially with children or dogs. It is especially lovely in the fall. Nice ride getting there too - very peaceful.

One of the best and highest scenic views in Bucks County. White water kayaking in the spring too!

I had planned an Appaplachian Trail hike to New England last weekend, but my firend bagged out. With the family out of town, I drive to High Rocks section of Ralph Stover Park (Tory Road) and proceeded east/ south along the High Rocks rim (beautiful long distance vistas and 200' drop to the Tohickon Creek). I continued on the trail (note poorly blazed but stay witnin earshot of the river and you will be okay since Cafferty Road is your east boundry with the river to your west. Pass beutiful rock outcroppings and proceed toward Point Pleasant (note - to get to Point Pleasant, you either exit the park up the trail to Cafferty or a better way (seasonal) is to cross the river jumping over rocks to the opposite side which terminates at the intersection of Tohickon Hill & River Road. Turn left onto River Road, (stop at the Point Pleasant general store (I stopped for a breakfast sandwich) and then turn left at Cafferty. Up the hill a quarter mile and past a few houses, you will see Bucks County Park signs - when you see an opening/ trail - descend back into the park and connect to the trail system back to High Rocks. With a stop, it took me 3 hours and I would estimate the orund-trip hike at 6.5 - 7 miles. Happy trails!!

Took a class there and we saw a variety of birds and wildlife. We felt like we were interfering with their daily routine and tried to keep 26 kids quiet. Not an easy task!

Wear hiking boots, a bird book of N America and binoculars. Take the Nature Trails. You can find maps and, in needed, can take a guided tour. I like to go on my own. If you are very quite, you may lucky enough to see a red fox. I wasn't, but will keep trying!

cool place on hot summer day. I believe you can rent cabins at this park

Great spot to rock climb, Great spot to fish, and an excellent place to hike. We've hiked here many times and always manage to find a deer trail that takes you off the beaten path. Very seldom do we run into another person even after several hours of walking.
