We went there especially for the safari tour, however the safari tour has very limited type of animals, mainly different breed of Deer. May be that is why the cost of safari tour is low. Was good to see Lion & Lioness in full view. You could also pet animals in a different section. Overall a good place kids.

We stumbled upon this place and were a little unsure at first. We did the safari tour and it was so much fun for all three of us (wife, 6yr old son, and myself). We couldn't believe the interaction that you can get with so many different species of animals. Will go again and hopefully soon!

This is a fun place to visit and see the different animals of the world up close. Take a ride on the open air bus and get up close to the animals. Feed them from the bus and just maybe they may try to get on the bus with you. Enjoy the petting zoo and different birds.

I had a great time at Lake Tobias however I expected more animals on the safari tour. Great place for kids.

We took our grandchildren to Lake Tobias for the day and had a great time. They loved seeing the animals and especially liked the safari ride. Our grandson really enjoyed the reptile show. They were allowed to see some of the reptiles up close and touch them.

My family came here about 12 years ago and boy has it changed for the better. The safari is always enjoyable but make sure to buy the animal feed crackers before you get on the bus. The animals get right next to the bus and are really only interested in those people with food. I was most impressed with the predator enclosures. The are much larger now and the animals seem happy. The reptile house is nice. Feeding the animals at the petting zoo is not just for little kids. My teenage daughter really had fun doing that. Definitely want to do this again. I forgot to mention just how cost effective too. $12 for entry and safari trip. Loved it!

I took my 4 year old daughter and best friend from college along with her 5 and 10 year old sons. They came to visit from Boston, MA. We had an wonderful time. The animals were amazing and to walk around and have such close encounters is unforgettable. The safari was also so nice especially with all the different animals and them coming right out to the bus. It made you feel like you could be in a big zoo but also had the wildlife feel. We all enjoyed ourselves and no doubt we will visit each year. I can honestly say the price of admission was worth every penny and they could probably even charge a bit more and not feel like you overpaid. I highly recommend. You def don't want to miss this place!

We had an awesome visit to Lake Tobias. It is well worth the $12 for admission plus the safari. For the most part, I was very pleased with the amount of room that the animals have to roam (minus the lions and bears, their enclosures were too small in my opinion). The safari was great, we got up close and personal with the animals...i'd recommend buying the animal food before hand if you'd like to see the animals up close. The other animals not on the safari were fun to see as well. The food there is a really good value (and surprisingly tasty as well).Definitely a great place to visit with kids and adults of any age!TIPS:- Buy food to feed the animals on the safari if you'd like a close look.- If possible, visit on a cool day. The safari is much more enjoyable when it's not super hot (since you're on an open top bus).- If you have small kids, I'd personally recommend doing the safari first (it's about 45 minutes long, and there's sometimes a line to get on as well, so we found that doing it first while everyone was still happy avoided meltdowns).

Lake Tobias Wildlife Park is definitely worth the trip. The drive to the park was an interestingadventure by itself with the GPS. However we were totally impressed with what we found. Its interesting combination of a small zoo and wild life safari. The zoo was great with tigers, monkeys, wallabies, ostrich, llamas, camels, reptiles, kangaroos etc. There are chickens roaming freely, a petting zoo where more animals are roaming for the kids to pet. The reptile show in the reptile pavilion was 30 minutes but very informative and fun. The highlight of the rip was the 45 minute safari. The animals actually come up to bus to eat the special crackers you buy before going on the safari. These animals are not as well fed by visitors as the main part of the zoo. Some will even try to climb onto the bus. The kids and adults love it The safari driver was entertaining and very knowledgeable. Tips: If you have young kids...that need a sippy cup bring one..as there are NO straws allowed in the park because of the animals. Buy the specially prepared crackers BEFORE going on the safari. They can be fond for purchase at the concession stand and the petting zoo. They are very very inexpensive. Food is very inexpensive but if we come again, I think I would prefer to bring a picnic lunch and just enjoy the area. Picnic areas are conveniently located and each pavilion has a playground next to it. There are two admission prices....Currently $6.00 for the zoo part and reptile area and $6.00 for safari. Great deal and money well spent. Bring water...on hot days it is easy to dehydrate. There is a concession stand and one soda machine available filled with water but its more convenient if you have your own. This is worth the trip for any age group not just once but over and over again.

Friday 8-29-14 was my Mom's 84th birthday. I told her we would do whatever she wanted for her birthday and she chose to go to Lake Tobias. What a fun filled day! It had to have been 25 years since I was there. How it has grown, yet still kept the small town feel! Best of all the prices are fantastic! For a total of $12.00 each we got to walk around the park, take the safari through the park and go to the petting zoo. Anywhere else you would have paid a minimum of $30.00 each. Plus all the associates we came in contact with were extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. Mom wants to go back in the fall and we intend to make it a family trip! Thanks again Lake Tobias for a fantastic day!

Little zoo with lions, tigers, monkeys, zebras, black bears, parrots, alligators - reptile show... Pretty impressive collection. However, no giraffe, elephant or hippo, etc.Not too big zoo, can be covered within 2-3 hours. You can feed the animals with crackers and popcorn sold at the zoo.You can spot a worker talking out an animal here and there - very friendly staff.Nice petting area, with hungry goats, sheep & deer...However, the safari is a must. Take the sliced-off open-top school bus (try to take it in the morning when more buses are departing otherwise you might have to wait for a bus trip to form) thru the open land and the animals literally come up to you for food where you can also touch them. They are all over and a pretty nice selection of them.Kids were thrilled and boy do we have good pictures....P.S. strollers are a bit difficult to push around.

We decided to come here last minute after remembering that we had a coupon. I had been here a handful of times as a kid, but it's easily been almost 20 years since I went last.My daughter just ran excitedly from one area to the next! She loved the petting zoo, looking at all the animals that were behind fences, and went bonkers on the safari ride. I thought she would get scared when an elk put his head in between the seats in the center of the bus, but she just kept feeding her until the driver said we had to leave. The reptile and exotic exhibit was very cool as well. This place is definitely way better than it was when I was a kid.The food is good, reasonably priced, and it's not too expensive to get in considering how much time you can spend here. We spent 4 solid hours here, and my daughter cried so hard about leaving. We'll definitely be back!

Lake Tobias is a good place to visit with small kids who like animals. Very clean restrooms, and decent food prices, with some exotic offerings such as bison. Place is kind of campy--"trams" are sawed-off school buses painted in camo colors, and the driver on our tour made sure to hit EVERY rock. Interesting mix of animals, with many species of deer, antelope, elk, bison (hmm, where DID those burgers come from), and large birds such as Emu and Ostriches. On the motor tour, animals come right up to bus, and people feed them crackers and popcorn (for sale at a nominal price). Caged animals (in very small enclosures) include lions, tigers, and yes, a bear (oh my). Petting zoo mostly pygmy goats, with about 100 guinea pigs in a barn stall. Overall, a good way to spend the day with kids 12 and under, and spend less than 100 bucks.
