Very informative and interesting history of Dr. Kate and her importance in local history and her appearance on This Is Your Life with Ralph Edwards. Well worth your time.

This museum chronicles the life of Dr. Kate Newcomb who was a remarkable woman. The museum gives one a snapshot of life in the northern woods of Wisconsin during the 1930's and shows the pioneering spirit of Dr. Kate. The have a 30 minute film of when she appeared on "This is your Life" in 1954. Very interesting and worth a stop!

The Dr Kate museum is worth a stop on your way up north. Our tour guide, Cathy, was a child during the million penny parade so she had great stories for us. The museum was small so it won't take too much time. You'll enjoy it!

I heard about the big penny and went to see it. It only takes a few minutes and the plaque tells the story of children raising money to build the local hospital by collecting pennies.
