We had a great time at Nordic. The staff was great and very kind. My daughter's and friend had a blast. The only thing bad was the lodge is small for dining. We will be coming back again for sure!

If you are from southern Wisconsin or Illinois, the Nordic Mountain Ski Area is a great trip to take if you don't want to spend a lot of time behind to wheel traveling to some of the larger ski areas. The area is well maintained with a huge ample parking lot. The staff were extremely helpful. The y treated us very well. The actual ski runs are well groomed and the setting is pretty. However, they are not long enough to get the leg burn that some desire. The lift lines were very manageable on the Saturday that we were there. Thought there were lines present the wait was not long. Some in our party were snowboarders. They liked the parks but found them to be somewhat sterile, with not much imagination to them. It appeared that they don't change "the set" very often. The paddle lift next to the park was convenient, but painfully slow. The bar had quite a bit of character to it - with a warm cozy feeling. The temps were in the high 30's - so the outdoor deck was popular. All and all a very good value.

This place is always well kept and inviting, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, a great place for families and intermediates. The weekly deals make it a great deal for anyone. I think of Nordic Mt as my own hidden gem!

with not a lot of hills in our area, we come here a lot during winter.. its just starting to get a little old. our 8 year old loves it though. we all snowboard, and have our own equipment. foods a little pricey, same with drinks.

Nordic is too expensive for a learning hill (it's not even a mountain). The runs are short. Parks are okay. If you go there during the weekend you'll be wait longer in line. For around $40, it is more cost effective to go north (Granite Peak), or the two hills by the dells (Devil Head and Cascade). Plus, Nordic evening rate are HORRIBLE!!!

This place caters to the younger crowd. A lot of school or youth groups come here and it gets crowded and sometimes rowdy. The hills are small, and there is only one seat lift. Not for someone who wants plenty of room to enjoy some good skiing.

Nice place to ski for a day trip instead of driving all the way to upper MI. Runs are nice even though they are shorter. Lines normally aren't too long and move along well. Good food for lunch.

I don't ski, so I can't comment on that part of the Nordic Mountain experience. However, this is the second year in a row that we have traveled up to Central Wisconsin for a 'winter' weekend getaway. (This year the word winter has to be in quotes, as there wasn't much snow to enjoy.)There are 5 tubing runs at Nordic Mountain and a lift line that pulls you and your tube up the steepest part of the hill. All of the runs are in a row, so they are similar in their steepness; though some were faster than others. The ski area makes it's own snow, so even though we have had a mild winter, there was still snow on the ski slopes and tubing hill. You can go down in a tube solo, or if you are with a group, you can hold onto each others' tubes and go in a line or a cube shape. The more people, the faster you head down the runs!I would not recommend the tubing for young children, since you do get quite a bit of speed going down the hill. But for a group of 20/30 something adults, it was great fun and I am sure it would be fun for families with older children as well. We'll definitely be back to Nordic Mountain next winter. It's a great place to spend an afternoon. And then you can go warm up with an adult beverage at the Trading Post; make sure to ask to see the bear blow bubbles.

I have live in the area for my whole life and have visited Nordic Mountain many times but just recently decided to go tubing there. It was SO MUCH FUN! I will definitely be back for more tubing in the near future. There is a lift that takes you to the top. 2 Hours: $143 Hours: $19Wednesdays are 2 for the price of 1

The building is very old. They do try and keep up on the ski runs as far as making new snow. They have themed weekends that seems to bring people in. It is good entertainment for the area.

Nordic Mountain is a wonderful place, with amazing staff and amazing lessons. The hills go anywhere from practically flat to glade runs. The food is also quite good, you have to give their fries a try!If anything, if you go skiing/boarding in the evening, be sure to bring hand-warmers and foot-warmers, especially for younger kids. It gets very cold as the mountain nears closing time, which on most nights is 10:00.And don't be afraid to plop your stuff down anywhere, no one will steal it. You will want to bring along about $8 per person if you want to buy food. Lessons are about $15 a lesson. For the most part, going to Nordic is a full-day event, although you can get half-day lift tickets as well. They also have tubing, which is great for younger kids and it comes with a tube rental.I would recommend this to any skiier or boarder.P.S: Even though I haven't needed it, they have a good ski patrol.
