Went on a Saturday morning, stopped in about 1130 am. Took the self guided tour of the museum. Very excellent displays of local and regional breweries of the past. Toured for about two hours viewing all of the history and memorabilia on display. Then went and sampled their various brews on tap. Also had a great burger in the pub/ restaurant. I would visit again in the future, as the displays change one to two times a year with different collectors loaning their own items for display.

This is a two hour drive from where I live in Janesville and very enjoyable drive during the summer months. Very nice motorcycle route if you ride a bike. We came to this brewery on a Friday night for fish fry but before we sat down, we spent some time in the Brewery Museum, which is attached to the restaurant and gift shop. If you are a craft brew fan, you must go to this attraction at least once. Very cool little place with good beer. The area reminds me of Northwoods Wisconsin (when actually, we are at the southern corner of the state.) This is a nice little outing for adults but if kids are along, I think they would bore quickly. This is a nice little gem to add to your craft brewery experiences.

We decided to go a little out of the way to visit the National Brewery Museum. It was worth the time and effort, not much else going on here in Potosi, but the museum is a nice collection of brewery artifacts. It was well displayed and nicely done. You also get a beer or Root beer with the price of admission. Overall worth the time if you are in this area.

This was an OK experience. It spoke about a lot of the history of the brand and the area. We had three kids along, a 10 year old and two teens that lost interest very quickly. We didn't stay real long and headed next door for a beer flight instead, which proved more interesting.

I am not an avid beer aficionado but I found the museum to be very interesting and inclusive of everything beerish- historic signs, beer mugs, trays, bottles, etc. which is all nicely displayed.

The National Brewery Museum & Library was one of several stops on a tour sponsored by the Botanical Center in my hometown community. I'm not a beer drinker, but I'm interested in history and it was fascinating to see through the exhibits of items such as beer labels, bottles, cans, etc. just how many brands of beer have existed over the years. The facility is laid out well with lots of light and I really enjoyed their Gift Shop. One of the items I purchased was a "Growler" of Root Beer which didn't last very long at home.

Fantastic collection of mugs, signage, old commercials, souvenir glasses, and other collectables from current and defunct beer brands... many from pre-prohibition. Every area of the country is represented. A "do not miss" museum for beer fans. Enjoy dinner and craft ale at the Petosi brewery after the museum... good food! Entry fee is very reasonable and gets one a free glass of craft beer at the end.

The fall drive down was gorgeous! With our senior discount, the $3 fee to see the museum was worthwhile, especially since we got a beer for my husband and root beer for me at the bar when finished. It was most fun to see the advertising from all over and to see the TV beer commercials from the 50's. Would have liked the Pabst Blue Ribbon sign to be plugged in to see the sparkling waters. There is a lot to see as far as beer memorabilia. Very nice restaurant, bar area and outdoor seating.

The National Brewery Museum is a fantastic place for anyone that likes beer or history. Put them together and it's a great stop, especially for people from the midwest, where the bulk of the memorabilia originates. Seeing the old photos of the decrepit Potosi Brewery before the restoration makes one appreciate the revival of this grand old place all the more impressive. The cost of the museum admission is essentially fully recovered with a free beer after the tour. Nice gift shop and very comfortable and friendly restaurant and tasting room. All set in one of the most picturesque little towns in southwest Wisconsin that anyone could imagine. Wonderful spot.

Did not expect the quality of the museum in the small town enviroment. Guide was very informative and History of the Potosi Brewery was particularly fun.

This is THE place to go if you love beer, and especially if you are from the Mid West, lost of memorabilia from Mid West breweries and history. Good way to spend an hour before you enjoy the restaurant and sample some Potosi beer. Worth a stop!

If you love beer, you gotta go here! A great storehouse of mostly American breweriana. Iowa and Wisconsin are IPA lover's paradises and there are many types to try. If you don't prefer IPAs, you may have some trouble finding something you like. This museum even has a beer research facility and library within, a place any beer lover would like to work! A nice area in a deep valley with great outdoor seating in season. A nice little pub inside with great exhibits throughout. Highly recommended for about a half day excursion.

This could also be a beer advertising museum because most of what is contained here is the old beer related signs as well as bottles and other items like that.

Great amount of breweriana there to view and history of interest to those who already have an interest in the subject. The displays are good and many people including myself have contributed items to the displays. Because the resurrected Potosi Brewery is attached, I would have to count the quality of the Potosi brews as a negative; after trying a sampler, I was unimpressed by any of the 4 I tasted. I don't get the complaint about price, $5 is not much to pay for any kind of museum.

Lovely little museum of brewing history. Nicely displayed and well worth the visit. The neon advertising signs were a hit for me. Its a wonderful place to visit and you should couple your trip with a stop in the Brewing Company just attached. It'll make your visit to this part of the world.
